The Akai MPK49 is a good controller, nice feel, finish and plenty of faders, knobs and even the Akai MPD Midi trigger pads. Combine this with a Nord Lead Rack and you're looking at a very nice set-up in my opinion.

I'm no expert and haven't tried anything better but the AKGC2000b was definately a step-up from my 58. Much warmer, more clarity and with the right placement can produce a way better result than the 58. but as someone has already said, a condenser may not be the answer. Hope this helps.

hey, i'm not happy with the snare sample i have in Reason's redrum. I'm looking for something that is dry and has more resonance and sustain... is there any tips i can use to modify the original sample or does anyone know of any free, good snare samples?? Thanks
