OT: Why wan't you tell me the answer?

LOL! But, that just makes too much sense!

OT: Why wan't you tell me the answer?

Only when you're in control :) When you're just learning to balance yourself, the bike goes all over the place, you react so you don't fall off. That's what the teacher was alluding to.

OT: Why wan't you tell me the answer?

We've all seen posts where someone asks a question, and people reply, only to piss off the OP because he's not getting the answer he was after right? Then the accusations fly, that seasoned people are guarding their trade secrets, etc, blah. "Give me compressor settings..."... etc. Well... Why...

    Mackie HR824 woofers

Duh... just read from the same site as Glen linked to: "Replacement woofer for Mackie HR824 and HR824 MKII studio monitors." Sigh... I am tired :)

    Mackie HR824 woofers

Thanks for the advice guys. Yeah, I definitely will replace them with exact same woofers. Glen, the woofers you linked to look like are for the MKII? Unless Mackie uses the same woofers for the originals and the MKIIs  Anyways, I'll definitely call Mackie support to see what I can...

    Mackie HR824 woofers

Does anyone know if the woofers can be successfully replaced on the HR824s? Is it something that I could do by myself or should I have it done by techs only? Let's just say my 1.5 year old did a number on them. :o

    Best Delay Plug-In?

How could I have forgotten Kjaerhus Classic Delay? Awesome indeed!

    Best Delay Plug-In?

Depends on what you're looking in a delay. PSP has some really cool delay plugins. I've checked out the Waves delays and like their reverbs, they're... eh... meh  UAD has the Echoplex emulation that gets rave reviews, although I haven't demo'd it yet. I like the delays that come...

Home recording set-up - mainly synths

I would recommend getting a separate MIDI interface, as opposed to one built into the audio interface. Something like a MOTU MIDI Timepiece (or some flavor or it) would work well. I'd connect each synth via MIDI to the MIDI interface. Depending on how you use your synths, and how many available...

Studio computer has been freezing! I'll lose business if I can't fix this!

BTW, have you run any antivirus and/or malware scanners? Just in case. If you don't have one installed (and ideally you shouldn't on a music computer, as long as you don't have it connected to the Internet), I'd still recommend you run something like SuperAntiSpyware, just to be sure. Also, as...

    VST EQ with before/after curve?

To the OP, I say forget about spectrum analyzers, and forget about EQ plugins with built-in curve displays. Grab a parametric with knobs, disable all the bands except for one of the mids. On the enabled band, set the EQ with narrow-Q, high gain, and sweep it around on an audio track. In fact...

    Analog or Digital and why?

Wrong argument for analog. Firstly this is not the 80s anymore and digital does not sound sterile or shrill (although it can if you want). Secondly I can easily create shrill and irritating sound with analog alone. Have you checked any of the Metasonics stuff? Like I said, stupid debate.

    Analog or Digital and why?

Both reasons are pretty much irrelevant for 90% of the recorded music. Firstly the music is so compressed and limited nowdays that the dynamic range means diddly squat. It is also debatable whether flat response is desirable.
