    Blurred Lines - Grunge Song

Well, I can tell someone is a fan of Faith No More lol, my only feedback to give is that the vocals sit a bit to high in the mix for me, other than that, pretty solid.

    Metal mixing

I just finished up a quick mix on this, anyone have any pointers? How is it sounding so far? https://dl.dropbox.com/s/x6f3ptic49wykiq/rebuild%20the%20evil.mp3?dl=0

    Hardcore mixing

Thanks, I will take note. As for guitars, I eq each guitar separately to blend in with the rest of the band, then together in context so I can hear how they mess with each other and the whole project. I think they sound freaking huge lol. Same amp settings, reamped through my 5150/mesa cab...

    Hardcore mixing

So here is my most recent mix, I have come leaps and bounds here in the last week or two. Learned a lot of new things, and I think it is paying off. I would love to get some critique on this mix, I use these stems for mix practice a lot. I reamped the guitars with my 5150 into a mesa...

Please let me know how it's sounding to you guys.

the guitars are a peavey 5150 boosted with a bbe green screamer on lead channel into a Diezel front loaded, the rhythm is actually the crunch channel of the 5150, I seen Jason Suecof has done that a lot so I gave it a shot lol.

Please let me know how it's sounding to you guys.

This is a raw pack I found on the Sneap forums that I felt like giving a go with. I reamped the guitars into an Engl Powerball, reamped the bass into my Tech 21 Sansamp RBI, the drums are metal foundry cymbals and some of my own drum samples. All mixed with my Equator q10 monitors and cross...

post hardcore song mixed with Equator Q10's

This is a song I wrote and mixed in a few hours the other day. Just trying to practice with my new Equator Audio q10s. I will have to say, these monitors translate everywhere. If something sounds bad, the mix was bad in the first place. I am super impressed with these monitors. I am...

    first mix with equator q10s

Ok, so I found the reason for the drums sounding right sided, I didn't notice it until you guys pointed it out. It was that I had certain elements of my SD2.0 routed to stereo outputs instead of mono, causing things like the snare to sound panned. That was a useful thing to learn, because I...

    first mix with equator q10s

I'm trying to get a feel for these new monitors so here is a mix of some stems I reamped. Mixed down on my new Equator q10s. https://dl.dropbox.com/s/qgtt04k2jgqe34c/Latest%20Mix.mp3?dl=0

    Reamping with axe fx, critique?

How do I go about getting more thump in the low end? I get told that often, what I normally do is high pass the bass at around 40-50 hz, and around 45 hz for kick. Should I not do that or something, I don't really like to add anything when I eq, I use almost all subtractive eq typically...

    Reamping with axe fx, critique?

Ok so I have been experimenting with Ownhammer impulses with my axe fx ultra lately. I would love to see what everyone thinks of this mix, it's a cover of as I lay dying's nothing left. I reamped guitars with axe fx, reamped the bass with my RBI, and the drums of course were a combo of metal...

What are your thoughts on capturing DI's?

I ran into a scenario about a month ago where I really wished I had a DI box for capturing guitars. So I have been looking into a Countryman type 85. I have used my interface or an outboard pre up until now, I was wondering if there is really any advantage of using a di box over your...

This is a metal mix i did for a group from Iowa, no samples or amp models.

well after listening to it, the guitars are still to loud, but I will get back on top of everything. I have had a pretty productive week or two learned so much that it's ridiculous. I learned how to quantize and how to use automation, that's a good thing to know. Thanks guys for the kind...

This is a metal mix i did for a group from Iowa, no samples or amp models.

I wish I would have read this before I went back over to my studio, but I did figure it out. I have been recording for like 5 or 6 years and didn't know what automation was till tonight, I guess I would have figured that out from you guys apparently lol. I just was playing with things, and...
