Multi-Effects Guitar Processor - Looking for Advice

This may be a little rich for your blood, but check out the Lexicon MPX G2. The interface has some quirks to it but it has the high quality Lexicon sound. Around $1200 (ouch), but this will be the last effects unit you'll ever own, unless it gets thrown in the washing machine...

Quality of Mic Pres in VS2480?

The converters are good, but the pres suck. Get a preamp and turn your gains down on the Roland. Your sound quality will improve. For what its worth, I got a Focusrite Trakmaster and kept it away from the Roland with a 3' Monster cable. Clean as a whistle. It has phantom power and easy to use...

    Effects to do what?

I personally prefer the noise gate. When I fall out of my chair after that 10th beer, I don't get the massive feedback, because I'm gated

    Delta WDM - Problem

I ripped out a SB Live and put in a Audiphile 2496. I flushed 98 down the drain and installed 2000. My latency dropped to 7.6ms. Bottom line: Who gives a rat's ass! The sound quality is a huge improvement and I still don't notice the latency. Hey geeks, stop worrying about tech bs and practice...

How to turn your old stereo speakers into the best sounding monitors you ever heard!

Somebody kill this thread. We're all tired of this useless debate. Bottom line: buy some decent speakers and stop fooling yourself with "something for nothing" schemes...

Selling my custom guitar? (how to)

I have been buying and selling guitars on E-bay for a few months now. I've had a fair amount of success. Since you are building custom guitars, you should give as much detail as possible regarding materials and construction. It's fairly robust community, but you are going to have to be creative...

    Data recovery software

At one time or another, anybody with a computer is eventually going to lose data one way or another, intentional or not. I got the "blue screen of death" and lost a couple of months worth of work. After restraining myself and not smashing my PC to bits with a Les Paul Custom (I had it my hands)...

    Sound Modules

I have a XV-5050. I got it for $800. I would say this is the last sound module I am ever going to need. This unit has it all. Around 1400 voices, editing software for making your own tweaks (no more fumbling with buttons trying to find the right parameter) 24 bit digital out in crystal clear...

    SONAR 2.0 XL has arrived!!!!

I upgraded Cakewalk 9 to Sonar XL 2.0. It is da bomb! I definitely have gotten my money's worth on their tech support and calling my buddy for "how to". If you actually buy the program so you can get help, and get the Sonar Power book by Garrigus, your learning curve shouldn't be too bad. Then...

    Swirling around and around...

You know, I don't really have anything new to add to this thread except that I really enjoy taking a huge puff and reading this thread because it reminds me of a time when I actually gave a shit. But it's too bad that the drugs and alcohol have really made an indelible impression towards...

    Sonar. A few midi puzzles.

    1. Here's a quick fix for that one. I put one MIDI note at the beginning of the piano roll and another one about 120 measures out. Then select the MIDI while playing button and hit play. It will keep playing the metronome until it gets to the last beat. Not the most conventional method but it...

    Music Master Vs Pro

No replies? I'll give my $0.02 worth... It is a decent graphical interface to the VS880. It's a so-so sequencer. I think it's strength is the effects editing. The little, ridiculous, screen on the vs880 makes it cumersome to do anything without having to scroll through the pararmeters. VSPro...

How do i get the best sounding record out of my vs880

Get a decent preamp. The pres on the VS880 suck. I couldn't get an acceptable signal without a ton of hiss. A hot signal from a pre allows you to turn down the inputs on the VS. The sound quality improved a bunch. Don't fool yourself, a VS880 is good for a lot of things, but not as a D/I...
