    miking Cabs live

keep it simple live, go for less bleed over perfect sound, i.e. shove the mic up against the speaker (assuming you're playing in a tight club). Eric

    souncard w/ AES/EBU or S/PDIF to mate with DAC-1

I only want to stick with sonar because I know it and the first project I'll be mixing will have been recorded in sonar. Eric

    souncard w/ AES/EBU or S/PDIF to mate with DAC-1

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Digi968PAD/ Thank you very much, that's basically what I'm looking for, how is samplitude for mastering? I'll be using Sonar 3 (maybe producer edition) for mixing, but I was thinking of Wavelab for mastering as I've used it before. If it's not worth it...

    souncard w/ AES/EBU or S/PDIF to mate with DAC-1

I'm looking for a souncard that'll give me a quality AES/EBU or S/PDIF output for a benchmark DAC-1. I'm looking to spend the least I can to get 2 quality digital outputs (and maybe 2 digital inputs) through either lightpipe, coxial or xlr (preferebly xlr or coxial). I've seen a lot of posts...

looking for a mini-DAC like product in the $300-$500 range

*BUMP* I've been searching all over... I've also been thinking about a lynx one and with a "passive preamp" but it seems ludicrous to pay as much for a volume knob as for the d/a card. Eric

Running a snake through the wall

Re: K-Rock I was hoping I'd be able to do that, and the headphone amp will be in the studio area. Do you think a pair of aux sends will provide a clear signal to the headphone amp even over the snake's length? Eric

Running a snake through the wall

That's exactly it, I didnt see it on that site before, thanks a lot! Running that RAVE set-up wirelessly would be great, but my friend is definitely looking for bang-for-the-buck. Thanks again, Eric

Running a snake through the wall

Thanks a lot; also, do you know of any good place to buy a wall plate fitting of one of these setups? If they can do 16 channels over 100 base t cat 5 with that R.A.V.E. set-up, I wonder if anything's stopping you from doing 8 tracks over the new 54 mb/s wireless, now THAT would be convenient!

Running a snake through the wall

Hi guys, A friend of mine is looking to run a total of about 12-channels of cable through his wall from the top floor of his house to his basement. I personally would never record an instrument so far from the mixer and monitors, but its his only choice. 10 of those channels will be for mics...

looking for a mini-DAC like product in the $300-$500 range

The idea of the mini-DAC is really great, and I heard the D/A is astounding, but it's about $1000 and can handle a number of of digital inputs I don't need. I'm looking for something that can hook up to the computer via firewire or usb and give me an output, on the level of motu d/a or better...

Get it fixed, then sell, or sell it broken?

All right, it's probably a good idea to get it fixed. The prepal.com figure the amp used is $613, plus the fact that I'm at least the second owner and I'd want to disclose the fact that it had problems. So, I wouldnt mind spending $80 in total to fix it, but $80 an hour is way too much, I'd take...

Studio in my garage? (Rooms are already partially built)

I'd make the large drum space a drum/live room, the bathroom and isolation booth and the other large space the control room bookmark this site... SAE Website this, just with a bathroom vocal booth somewhere should work for you... (from the studio plans section of the above site)

Get it fixed, then sell, or sell it broken?

Yo, I have a David Eden Highwayman head from 98-99 or so, I bought it used at the local shop for $800 out the door 2 years ago, february. I think I'm the second owner, I could be wrong though. Gradually the amp starting getting lower and lower, and the noise of the DI output got louder and...
