startup Thanks for the advice. As far as keeping things clean I should be fine. This machine will never be connected to the internet so popups and other junk should not be an issue luckily. I do need to watch when I install programs though that they don't automatically startup in the background.

RAM speed When I add a second 512 chip will I be able to use the dual speed? How do I set up the memory to a fast speed? With this much RAM will I be able to run approx. 30-40 tracks with plug-ins smoothly?

made the purchase I just ordered the last of what I need. Daffydrunk I went with the PC 3500 that you suggested. Only one 512 stick and will add more when possible. I'll let you guys know how it works out. Jimmy
