Hi all,
I am using a Fender Pro Junior for recording guitar with "live air." The problem? I am getting a bunch of hum out of the amp. I can have the volume on the amp turned all the way down and no cable or guitar plugged into the amp and I still get this hum. Though it is not so loud...
A friend of mine just bought one. We tried to record with it. meters showed a digital signal was getting to the recorder. But when we played back our stuff there was nothing there. No meters moved, nothing. We followed the instructions in the manual. Armed the tracks, hit play and record...
Okay, I have a copy of CEP ver 1.2 and I want to record some of my old LPs and then burn them to CD. I'm tired of editing the wave of the LP into separate tracks. Any way of just assigning a CD track number were the songs change from a single waveform without having to do one of each song on...
I'm getting ready to do a search now, but if you would liketo, tell me what you think of these babies, especially if you own one. Are they worth $300?
Peace, Jim
It keeps being asked, do monitors make a difference? And it keeps being said--YES. I just want to emphasize that "YES" yet again. I have been home recording for many years--just for fun. But I have always been unhappy with many of my recordings for being so lacking in definition. I finally...
Hey gang, I just picked up a used Fender Special (1994) for $50. Plays great but has too much pick up hum (buzzzzz). I am interested in some suggestions for a nice replacement pickup. The bass has a P-pickup in the neck position and J-pickup in the bridge position. If you know of another...
Well, I am a Strat fan (not fanatic) and I love mine. But I would love to get a LP Custom like Ace Frehley's or Peter Frampton's (I guess I love things with three). I could also heat this thread by adding a Telecaster to the debate. I don't play mine near as often as my Strat, but when I want...
Yeah, take the ADAT card back and buy a recording card (lake Layla or a MOTU) that has the connection you want. If you check out the Alesis forum or run a search on the ADAT card you bought you will find not much else other than complaints. I think if you go to the computer and soundcard...
If you have a SCSI out (which I think the Akai does have)then you can use a multitude of external memory storage units, from the aforementioned Zip drives to huge hard drives. I think that a 16 track recording will end up eating a ton of space if you plan on sending the data of all 16 tracks so...
I sugest that you pan off center, but not hard. This will keep it from getting lost in the mix. Also, from the instruments you say are in the peace, the fact that it is a funk song and the reference to AWB (cool band, btw) I would suggest a clean guitar with just a touch of overdrive for...
For recording? Or for back up? For recording, I don't believe so. It would have to be able to read and write information/music/data at the same time and I don't think CR recorders can do this. Now I may be wrong, so, anybody, please correct me.
Peace, Jim
First - your Fostex software version (at least in my case) was on a sticker on the box. It probably appears somewhere during start up as well. Check the manual to double check the start up sequence.
As for a back up alternative. I am the big pusher of the Orb Drive, especially when it comes...
Anybody here know if the FD-4 will do a song copy so that you can copy a song to a different program. I tried to do using track copy, but with no luck. I am trying to songs and make a copy so when I begin to overdub I don't have to overwrite my first set of tracks. This way I can keep basic...
Hey every one using the POD. Check out the site. they have a page of user settings to help you get the sound of your favorite artists or amps. You just download and put it on using the sound diver software that came with the POD. What, you didn't get the software (which unlocks all the great...
Anybody have inside info on the Zoom Studio 1204? Is ist worth $200? Is it quiet? Does it have nice sound effects or is it a waste of money?
