I want to take the step to analog and buy a reel to reel tape machine to record a finished song from my DAW to tape and then re-record it back into my DAW to get that warm analog feel.
I was just wondering what kind of equipment I would require and how I would go about doing this.
My set-up...
Hi,
I am currently using a Vox amp with a Squier Fender Tele, and recording the amp with a Shure SM58. (as shown in the picture)
But currently, when I record, I get a very muddy sound.
What would you say are the main reasons for this muddiness?
Hi,
I've already bought a Microkorg synth, but I have pretty much exhausted its presets.
I was wondering whether anyone could suggest a next synth to purchase, under £200?
Thanks
I have downloaded the Korg Legacy vsti plugin for Logic and I love it.
I'm finding it difficult to find some other virtual synths similar.
Does anyone have any ideas for alternative virtual synths other than the Legacy?
In the manual, it states this exactly:
"Do not connect a +4 (line level) XLR cable to the front-panel inputs (because of the preamps). Use a rear-panel quarter inch input instead"
Does this mean I should not connect a standard female to male XLR cable to connect the mic to the interface...
I have an MPC 500 and I have always used Logic as my DAW.
I have been recording my MPC into Logic through audio, using the phono outs.
However, now I want to try and record the MPC through midi data instead because it is alot easier to edit and manipulate.
I preferably want to use it as a midi...
I was wondering how I would connect up my subwoofer to my interface to use it as part of my studio setup.
I have this exact one: http://www.hifix.co.uk/graphics/pics/large/102645.jpg
It has RCA ins on the back of it.
This is the interface I have...
I am moving into a new bedroom in the next week,
I was wondering whether anyone could give some advice to me about how best to set up my room for recording.
Also take into consideration that a small part of the desk will be for working.
I have some pictures here:
My mate has just offered me a 'Drawmer Lx20 dual compressor' and an 'Alesis Quadraverb ' for free.
However I dont know if they will be better than the compressor and effects presets in Logic 9 Pro.
Could anyone tell me if its worth adding the two into my setup?
Cheers
Hi,
I wondering whether any of you could recommend me/ show me any vintage recording equipment which could still be used in a modern recording setup (compressors, reverb effects units, pre amps..)
For example;
I was looking at this: Roland RE-201 Space Echo | Vintage Synth Explorer
I know it is...
Hi,

I know this is slightly irrelevant but I couldnt find a more appropriate category.
I am trying to start up a live streaming show on blogtv using my Macbook Pro's built in webcam and my condenser mic for the sound.
However I cant get the microphone to pick up any sound when I change the input...
