Does anyone know where to get one for mega cheap? $80 is a tad bit too much for my liking. I want this shock specifically because I recently purchased a second AT4050 without a shock mount, and my first one came with the AT8449 ring shock.
Just wondering how you set that up. I tried placing a pair of C414 B-ULS mics in XY but it was too awkward, so I spaced them out. They work great as a spaced pair of overheads. Captured a very nice balance of a drum kit, along with a snare mic, kick mic, and room mic.
Also, a little off topic I...
I'm curious as to how everyone here has used their LDCs as stereo pairs, specifically with drum overheads. That's what got me thinking "how would an XY pattern work?". Is it the same way as with SDCs but chunkier and more awkward looking? Does anyone have a picture of their stereo LDC setup?

Just thought I'd share. I just ordered a 600 pack of Taiyo Yuden silver printable cd-r's. Today's the last day.
Would it work to get several external burners and connect them with a usb dock to burn multiple discs at a time? I'm thinking about doing that, but I don't know if it would work... :o
Also, how is this for a design?

Back in February, I purchased two mics on ebay for around $600 each. These are the auctions:
without label
with label
It isn't pictured in the first auction, but the box shown was sent to me without the same label that can be seen in the second auction. Other than that, everything is there...
This is my first attempt at producing something. I used a plugin to max the volume, which makes for a little rumble. I hope it's passable. I spent so much time on mixing that I like almost all of it. I'm really proud, but I'd be grateful for any critiques to consider for future projects. Please...
They are AKG C414 B-ULS mics. I bought them separately on ebay particularly because the matched pairs are hard to come by, but also because they both came with their original frequency response curve charts so I could see just how mismatched they are. First of all, can somebody please assure...

With all of my new gear, and with little experience as a recording engineer/enthusiast, I'm trying to become familiar with the results that I should expect to achieve. I'm a little embarassed, so I won't say what gear I used but I'd be...
You know you want the cash. Come on! :D
edit: Just to reiterate, I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for brand new stuff. So, if you have some used gear for me then I want it as cheap as can be. I doubt this will get me any offers, but I plan on ordering new stuff next week if no one steps up...

If two toms are miked using a condenser on figure-8, can two separate tracks be achieved for the individual toms? I figure maybe the track could be duplicated, and then the two tracks could be gated accordingly so that you only hear the higher tom on one track and the lower tom on the other...

Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster. Like New. Purchased new from Elderly Music a few weeks ago. Comes with Fender hard case. Also comes with strap and straplocks. Costs $1200 new but, for you, only $1000...
I did a search, but didn't find much. What I'd like to know is, if I get a few cheap SM58 copies with on/off switches (like the GLS ES-58 three-pack), how farfetched would it be to replace those switches with momentary pushbuttons from Radioshack?
