I still have my Tascam 488MKII ... just had it rebuilt/refinished. Harmon Cardon tape deck too, Panasonic DAT ... just like having them around. Use Tascam 24SD ... marvelous machine.

Yes he was familiar with the Fostex formatting. He was able to pull wav files off of the original failed disc.

Is it the opposite of format? Do you lose all info if you unformat?
