does the microphone have 100uf output caps?

I have two of the older TLM1050s. If you have skill and the correct tools you can unsolder the tube from the PCB and not lift the pads or break the tube. I removed the tubes with no problem, PCB pads are in good shape.

The posted 87 curves are for a KH modded one. Not stock Do you know what what was done to the microphone? did KH change/remove the high end EQ?

Looks like it might be ALMOST an older u87 type circuit set to cardioid. Does it have a harsh high end? Leave the basket alone. The transformer might be fine as it is. Study the old Neumman u87 schematic for ideas. The one cap that will make a difference is the one between the two 1gigs...

To be clear I don't like it much with the changed part it is a bit smoother. Gutting it and installing a new circuit makes good sense to me if I was going to keep them.

I read the link and I would call Shure about what the fix might cost. You might have the same problem caps being bad all the time. One can work on SMD with regular irons and things but you need practice. I would not bake the board. What does the capsule look like?

condensers 1 sounds like a AMI transformer 2 sounds like a brauner VM1 transformer and high end from the capsule in a vm1
