Do you really need to replace all tubes on a tube amp at the same time?

Thanks, good to hear. Both of the above. Outside of the one tube that I replaced several years back, all the other tubes had been in there since I bought the amp years ago. And then on top of that I started getting some annoying sounds in recent months. So good time for a change methinks.

Thanks for the reply. See my response to Dave.

Do you really need to replace all tubes on a tube amp at the same time?

Thanks. I know all the positions the specific preamp tubes need to be in. I'll probably just end up playing my practice amp till the rectifier comes... As fate would have it earlier today I realized that I think I may have already tried very briefly in the past the two preamp tubes I already had...

Do you really need to replace all tubes on a tube amp at the same time?

Thanks Dave. My question wasn't about whether I'll hear a difference going from the old to the new rectifier when used in combination with the new tubes. I was wondering how OCD one has to be about starting to use all of the new tubes at the EXACT same time. In other words, should I wait to get...

Do you really need to replace all tubes on a tube amp at the same time?

Back to this post for a quick second. I just got a set of new tubes to replace all the tubes on my amp. Unfortunately the rectifier tube won't come in the mail for another week. If I put in the rest of the new tubes and play with my old rectifier several times before the new rectifier and then...

If want to use the effects on my personal mixer at a venue where they already have a PA system, can I connect my mixer to the house mixer?

If want to use the effects on my personal mixer at a venue where they already have a PA system, can I connect my mixer to the house mixer? Let's say I have a personal PA system that I rehearse with at home and I want to use the on board effects on my mixer (e.g., reverb, delay, etc) for a live...

Question about effects on Yamaha mixers

Thanks, very helpful. I know very little about vocal processors. Are you saying that the processor you suggested will have better quality effects than the Yamaha mixers (e.g., the hall reverb on the Yamaha will be worse quality than the hall reverb on the vocal processor)?... or are you saying...

How much difference does using different mixers make when using the same speakers?

Thanks Rob. Yeah, as just mentioned in reply to Boulder... I will likely just use it with the Samson for a while and see how that goes. Then when I can manage I can just bite the bullet as you say.

How much difference does using different mixers make when using the same speakers?

Thanks a lot. Makes sense. Yeah, I also share your concern. I will likely just use it with the Samson for a while and see how that goes.

How much difference does using different mixers make when using the same speakers?

Hi again Rob and Boulder... I just wanted to follow up on this thread to ask another related question. Let's forget about the Samson and focus on a different possible scenario... So again, let's say I have the StagePas PA system, and let's say that 3 of the 4 channels with mic inputs on the...

Question about effects on Yamaha mixers

I own a Yamaha StagePas 600i PA system. The mixer for the system comes with four on board effects, all labeled as types of reverb (Hall, Room, Plate, and Echo). In my experience echo is typically is synonymous with delay, which would be good because I'd like both reverb and delay. The thing is...

questions about sending DAW effects to mixer for rehearsal

Thanks. I prefer the reverb that's on the mixer to any of the ones I have in the DAW - I've gotten used to singing with it, and it also sounds better than the ones I currently have in the DAW.

questions about sending DAW effects to mixer for rehearsal

Thanks. I was just asking about for rehearsal... but good to know it can work for a gig too. I'm not sure what Ts up means, but I take it that's just some sort of crashing of the laptop. With the A/B pedal I take it you're saying after the vocal mike feeds into the mixer, then at the next step...
