Hi All,
I've been shedding a bunch of hardware and in general downsizing - I plan on sailing away for 5 years...
But, I have kept a few things and have a need/desire for a Tascam M-1B manual (service or operators or both)
Pointers to the right place would be welcome.
I'm not using my Ampex atr-100s much now. I'm torn between keeping them and selling them. Both are halftrack machines, one is 1/4" the other is 1/2". They are both functional and appear to have been atr-104 once upon a time. They could be used as-is or sent off to ATR Services.
I'm really torn...
I'm cleaning out the garage and listed some 1" tape on the adds section. Some 499, 456 and precision reels with likely sticky 996 on them. The precision reels are outstanding for those who have never used them...
Hi All, I'm cleaning out the garage (em, studio) bit by bit. I have some 1" tape that I want to move.
2 reels of Ampex 456
2 reels of ampex/quantegy 499
5 reels of Scotch 996 on precision reels
1 precision reel without tape.
All are 1", the 996 is likely sticky so the value is in the reels...
Now that my M520 is gone I have a M512 that took one too many bumps in shipping. Should I just sell it as is or part it out. It is a shame to part it but if the parts make some others M512/520 whole it would be good.

It has been a long time since I've done anything audio. Real Life caught up with me and kept me away....
My daughter plays violin for her high school orchestra and was given homework of playing a 20 second piece. The piece needed to be recorded and emailed to the teacher. Options for recording...
Its time to do a little garage cleaning.... I thought to offer them here before putting them on eBay.
1" tape (1" new ATR tape goes for $164 ouch!):
1 reel 1" GP9 $95 currently on 499 hub in Scotch plastic shipping box
2 reel 1" 499 $75
1 reel 1" 456 $50 1998 date code
1 reel 1" 456 $40 1989...
I've gotten a few questions along the way so I thought to add a bit to this old thread. I went back and forth on whether to use a 3 voltage JLM regulator board or to breadboard a power supply. The MP-2 board includes onboard voltage regulators so you do not NEED to regulate incoming + and -...
I'm downsizing some of the hardware that I have got. One of the first to go is my Tascam M520 Mixer. In good working and cosmetic shape. The question is what to expect for it. Located in the Portland area.

I think that you have it
Hi, Just got a chance to look over your measurement results and I think that P38 got turned around and is in backwards. P38 takes the signals from the Interface/lamp Driver board and routes them over to the power supply connector where they go (via the power supply)...
I'm selling my M312B mixer and just put it on eBay. Just an alert if you are interested in one.

I was given 2 Teac RA41 stereo amps. This is an echo from the past. These were the electronics that were used with a 4010 (I think) transport in the late '60s.
THey are in super shape. I was thinking of gutting them and putting some mic preamps in them. But who knows....

I've got a few things in the fire but this weekend I needed to just focus on something else. At the moment I'm out of lapping film so no more heads for a while.
Anyway to come to the point I had these 3 headstacks sitting arouund waiting for me to get to them to relap. Two from 388's and 1...
I've been replacing the relays in the 58 and discovered that I do not have enough metal covers for the relays. I like to put them in as that they give a little noise immunity when the relays switch.
I'm at work right now and think that I need 6 or perhaps 8. So if you have any dead channel...
It is time to re-lap a few MCI headstacks. One is Mine and the other belongs to Jortiz. I like to get some practice in before risking an otherwise good head. I have a MCI headstack or two floating around so I have started with the most wornout one. Here is a scan of the Rec and PB heads.
The...
