    Vs880 to my Computer, how?!

    No you cant. Spdif is the way to go. Read what Richard Monroe said about keeping a few empty bars in the beginning. Your first 2 tracks will be in synch but when you add more it can get out of synch. You can still realign with your software. I would invest in a seperate usb Spdif interface...

    Fresh reinstall of WinXP?

    http://www.windowsreinstall.com/articles/waystoreinstall/ When you install it will ask for your COA (certificate of authencity) number that came with the disk. You can either call or do it over the internet. You need to have that COA though.

    How do you transfer files from the VS880 to Cakewalk?

    I know it works with 9.3. Vs880 as slave: Cakewalk settings: Under the SETTINGS menu, choose CLOCK and select SMPTE/MTC. Click on OK. Under the SETTINGS menu, choose MIDI OUT and enable Transmit MMC. From the same screen, set the Timecode Master's Unit ID to 17. Click on OK. Under the SETTINGS...

    static electricity?

    Since you live in cold country the heat is on. No Humidity. As mentioned you should spray the rug. Dont wear tennis shoes. Wear thin leather soled shoes like sandals or Moccasins. Or thin socks or go barefoot. If its that bad you may want to get a Static eliminator. The cheapest one I know of...

    Networking question...Bluetooth?

    Wireless is a little less secure than hardwired as far as the net is concerned. Still usable though. Wireless for a Daw seems risky to me if someone is surfing on the other computer at the same time. But Ive never tried it. If it were me I would just hardwire. :cool:

    Adding MIDI Port to WinXP computer

    Even with a Dell you should be able to disable it in the bios setup. Usually you hit the delete key when booting up, to go into the setup. When you bootup look for something like "To enter setup press the Del Key" Once your in the setup you will need to look for something like Bios features...

    adding ram...how should they match up?

    You really dont need Ecc memory. Its nice but its more along the line for servers. It minimizes problems by buying ram from the same company if using multple sticks. If the board takes both sdram and Ddr ram then get DDR ram. BUT if im not mistaken you may have to remove the Rdram (which is...

    Still unsure about the MIDI thing...

    Not if you audition a real keyboard (not just a controller) My keyboard has 2 midi outs and ins as well as 2 audio outs. I can blend both audio and my soundcards midi patches together at the same time. In other words I can play a standup bass with the audio out on my keyboard, and with my midi...
