When I first bought my MSR-16 (20 yrs ago) I was using a Tascam board & the recordings were noisy , lots a hiss. I upgraded the board to a Toft ATB 16 and played the same tape thru the new board & could not believe how great it sounded.. no hiss at all.... same tape. Point being the combination...
I record on a Tascam MSR-16 thru a Toft ATB-16 console & then take the stereo outs of the Toft direct to my Tascam CDRW-700....sounds great , no problems.
I have one & it's a great ...finally after 15years of use it went out for a new counter roller ...rubber was shot & to align / calibrate heads. Nothin beats the warm sound you get from anaolg.
I think what you would need to do is wire snakes that are TRS one side and RCA on the other side. On the tip Right sleeve side wire it as necessary. ON the RCA side leave off the sleeve connection coming from the TRS. Then connect the tip(hot) of the RCA connection to the Tip wire of the TRS...
RMGI 911 1/2" tape
