I Have a SM75 and a cheapish Condenser mic and am having problems getting a decent noise out of them for recording vocals. we haven't found miltitracking to work too well so we want to use single takes using both mics. any good tips? we also seem to get a load of hum. How do we kill it! DotLW

what i mean is. is it worth the trouble of getting cubase or anything else to do home recording.

i have been recording demo's into FL7 using a sm57 & 58 and a cheap condencer mic and an m-audio soundcard and i am wondering... would get better results recording into different software or is it just a question of improving my techniques?
