:eek: :eek: YES. every piece of gear colors sound...The B-thing will change it up BIG time (not for the better)..I would skip the b-comp and do a manual ride. The TRS shouldn't matter to much....still balanced audio. Good Luck

Wow am I the only guy who likes(d) Ratt, Dokken AND Strapping Young Lad and Slipknot????? WTF??? Metal is all atttitude and shred (whether chunk or lead)..which is why NIRVANA killed metal..although I actually grew to like them.......poison, and all those crap ass la guns/guns n roses bands...

I agree, or the UA LA-610 is real fat sounding too.

I have had pretty good luck with the focusrite Twintrak...right about $500 sound pretty decent.

The first one is unbelievable noisy (sony?) unusable for anything....The second one has no detail.....sounds like a blanket is over the mic.....the 3rd mic sound a little better than the 2nd...The 4th has more body than the rest but really mid-rangy......5th sounds weird in general.......57...

I know many guys around here bag on the TLM-103.But honestly if you can't get a good sound out of that mic then you you might want to invest in a pair of EARS. I have had great luck with mine with Female vox and electric guitars...bright and forward but not harsh. I a/b'ed next o similar...

I believe the T4 is missing the input amplifier stage of the La2A.Which make quite a difference in sound..However I do really like the T4 comp in the la-610 very transparent and usefull...edit to the above....When going into the line in you are also accessing the EQ stage in the LA-610 so its...

I believe you can bypass the pre by going line in xlr on the back panel. That way you are only using the t4 comp. I believe the problem is you can't use the pre at the same time like the 76....It's not really 2 seperate units.

I have used ruby tubes in my 76 marshall, 94 mesa trem-o-verb and 62 magnatone.....Overall my sound quality was never the same as it was with my previous tubes (GT's and other various original mans)...I ended up buying all new tubes ( although I kept the rubys' for backup)...just my .02.

Well for my wifes birthday in October I bought her a new Neumann TLM-103.....(obviously shes a singer)..Works out good for me to :D
