hi,
I'm wondering what way to go ..
1. buy me a BR-1600 all-in-one solution
2. buy me a digital mixer with optional cards so I can link it to Cubase
both possibilities will cost almost the same
(I already have a mac - so don't need to buy that if I go for option 2)
but I really don't know...
I'm planning to get the DDX 3216
with the optional ADAT card
now I'm looking for an interface to connect the ADAT with my laptop and eMac
preferably via FireWire
I'm thinking of buying a digital mixer with an ADAT card on board
problem is I can't find a (cheap) way to connect the ADAT to my powerbook or eMac
both only have firewire and USB to connect
any suggestions ?
thanks for the info Phyl
HangDawg, what I wanted to know is what to choose
1/ high amp volume & low input-gain on mixer
2/ low amp volume & high input-gain on mixer
howdee,
I'm pretty new to the whole recording thing
and I was just wondering where to 'gain' when recording (guitar or bass or ..)
this is my setup
guitar-amp --> tascam FW1082 --> Cubase on my Mac
where should I 'gain' ?
- on my guitar-amp
- on the tascam FW1082
and how loud should I record...
so I tracked down a first test
only vocals and guitar over a synth-drumpattern
(I want to play around with the vocals and guitar to get a hang of Cubase before recording anything else)
I recorded the guitar with my POD2
and the vocals with a cheap Elvis-mic
all recorded with my Tascam FW1082...
the second lyrics I wrote
I'm not gonna tell what it's all about .. that's up to you to find out
but don't take them to litteraly :D
any thoughts, suggestions ?
you got to watch who you let in
I'm snooping around all over the place
