I take back what i said about voodoo in a song title...i played tonight w/ a group opening up for Astral Project...this killer jazz quintet from new orleans...and they had a song called Voodoo Bop... a guy i was in a band with when i was like 16 wrote a song called Suicidal Skater...the chorus...

yeah i think old fender's and ricks have the most distinct and recognizable tones....i think even that the rick is muddier than the old p basses...which is a sound i really like...now i have old Yes bass lines in my head lol.... with the new basses, i also think it has to do with the way people...

Well since most basses are recorded/miked thru PA direct anyhow, most any bass amp will have a DI out...I have a Gallien-Kreuger 400RB and the DI on it takes a quarter inch cable...i used to use an Ampeg SVT-III and that had both a quarter inch jack and an XLR jack which gave me a better...
