    Audio Density

For all those interested... http://us.share.geocities.com/mewpike/samplemu.wav Here is a sample of my music (I hope the link works). Feel free to scrutinize and analyze the waveform, find out for me if it is "healthy" or producing a reasonable volume for its waveform size. Any suggestions on...

    Audio Density

but.. A friend of mine recently started to record with his computer. With less experience than I have and a less costly set up he recorded stuff which had that "dense" sound I am after. He plugged his keyboard directly into his sound card and used a peavy bass amp as a preamp for his mic...

    Audio Density

I've have a DAW which I am quite pleased with in many respects, but there is one thing which bothers me. It seems that the audio which I record is not "dense" enough to compare to music which is professionally recorded. I've compared the waveforms of my music to those of professional songs and...

    Audio Density and Preamps

I've done desktop recording for quite some time now and find that the audio I record is tenuous in comparison to professional music. Visually, my audio looks louder (by comparing wave forms in mix edit view) than professionally recorded music, but the pro music is always stronger and louder. One...

Using pitch change on a snare

Strehhhhhtch Use the stretch command instead of the pitch shifter, you'll find it has it's own pitch shifter except it leaves the tempo untouched, but be sure to set the quality to high or you may find the audio breaks up in undesirable ways.... Charon

I'd reccommend NOT doing the following:

Chorus I highly enjoy Cool Edit's Chorus - infact, I would stand by it as one of CEP's most worthy effects. I don't altogether love my voice all the time, but I find the chorus does enhance what I put out. 'Tis all subjective in the end but I had to defend.:) Cheerio Charon

SPDIF to Digital Receiver @ 96kHz

I am currently using the audiophile sound card and am capable of outputting 96kHz sounds to the analog outputs, but my receiver (utilizing the spdif out of the AP) can only play up to 48kHz - what gives? I have my digital connection set to receive CD signals; I thought maybe this was the...

    metronome

Cool Edit's Metronome Seems to Work Just Fine! I can get 5/4 and 11/8 time sigs to work just fine with the metronome in CEP 2.0 use the "advanced" settings to configure the downbeat and regbeat pattern. Does anyone know how to make mid song tempo/signature changes measureable in CEP 2.0...

How to make an Audiophile 2496 play (using SPDIF) on a Stereo Reciever

Fake Surround! This sounds like the answer I was looking for, where should I start looking for it on my reciever? Will it plainly say "fake surround" or come in cognito? I have a JVC receiver - do you know if it might be equipped with fake surround? Thank you for your help though, that...
