    Mexican Telecasters versus Squire Telecasters

I have owned and played nothing but Fenders for over 17yrs. I have found the quality of the squires in particular to have decreased dramatically in the last 10 or so years. Not only in craftmanship but also in selection of materials. I would opt for the Mex before a Squire. If anything for the...

Recording Small Amps verses POD: opinions with my scenereo in mind.

I use a small tube amp for recording. It's a Mesa/Boogie Subway blues. 1- 10inch speaker and 20watts. I absolutely love it!!!! Nothin fancy....just bass/mid/treble and spring reverb controls. The tube sound outta this thing is pristine!! I would recommend this amp if you can find one. Mesa...

    Kick Mic

I have had some pleasing results with the CAD M-177. When used with the -20db pad it performs nicely. Thick low end ..but with a good amount of controlled "smack" form the drum head using the pad. It gives great attack and is suited well for harder rock styles. brumby

    PE-120's ???

hey T.R.!! I saw an earlier post by you in reference to the PE-12O's...in the mic forum section. I'm not sure if you saw it but .... You should be using the Everyday 206 battery instead of a "AA" for the mic. Although it "works" with a AA it was designed to use the voltage of a...

Howdy... I am seriously considering adding a 1/4 machine to my current set up and was wondering if any one is currently using this reel to reel ?? If so are there any problems with the machine that occur "often". In other words ...how reliable is it and would you recommend it?? Thanks...

Live Performance Mic With Low Proximity Effect

what about a md 421....? Not a singers first choice due to it's bulky nature but non the less just as effective. The 5 position roll off lets you tailor the singers voice and control proximity effect. " a brumby isn't a donkey....it's a midget horse."

Groove Tubes GT 67 (a bargain? Need advice again, thanks:))

marcello, I have used a GT-44 during a session.....which is the smaller version of this same mic that groove tubes makes...probably has a different tube though as it is smaller in size. I was very impressed with the quality of the mic as well as the sound!! In fact, afterwards I thought...

Members average number of mics and a list...

Hi Everyone, I'm new to "this board" and wanted to share some info with you all. It's nice to find a forum I can relate to. In reference to Tascams PE-120 : They're electret condensors. They take one AA battery each and won't run on phantom power. Once upon a time they were OK but there...
