Thanks for your reply I've tried the dry finger bass in Halion sonic se...It's not bad, just seeing if you experts knew of anything better....I'm currently writing some rock/blues based stuff.....Trying to lay down some reference demos....

I'm recording bass tracks using a MIDI kbd. Where can I get good bass guitar sounds? I'm using Cubase 8 with Halionsonic VST. So far I haven't been able to get a good bass I like with Halionsonic… Any other VST recommendations? Anybody else using a kbd. to track bass?

Ordered a Seagull S6 to use as a recording flattop as I read on here it gives a quality tone. Question is, which strings do other Seagull players use for recording?

So, I've been reading a lot here. One thing I've noticed is that a SSHD is highly recommended. I've ordered one. The question is: What should I keep on the SSHD? What should I keep on the standard(5200rpm) drive?

Thanks guys. I was just curious. Originally I got Cubase "LE" with a Tascam us-144. Then upgraded to Elements7...BTW I'm loving this software. Next year I'll get a rig capable of running the "big boy" & upgrade @ that point....

I would bet you're gonna have to get a soundcard &/or interface to get anything to work......I use a stock soundcard & a USB interface, less than $200 US.....good luck
