Feeling dizzy.

I already have a VCA-type and a copy of an 1178. Both are fine, but not really what I'm searching for. Chandler stuff looks good but $$$.

I have several compressors already; just looking for one with a little 'character.' I read good things about this one, and also bad things, so remain undecided. (That actually is a low price these days.)

I'm looking at a Joe Meek compressor - SC2 v1.07, and am not sure if it's worth buying. I'm reading this has a tendency to drift out of alignment and the left/right imaging is not accurate. Anyone have any experience with this piece of gear?

The song speeds up noticeably as it progresses to the choruses. I need to slow it down at those places.

Tried this - also a weird result: There is one inserted at the start of the song by the program (usually 120 bpm.) If I insert another after this with a different bpm (say 100 bpm) it does nothing. But if I insert one after that one, (say 40 bpm) the whole song from the start plays at that bpm...

Yes - doesn't work at all for me.

I'm trying to use them to vary the tempo, but they don't seem to work for me. The envelope does nothing after inserting points - no tempo change at all. The markers are also troublesome, sometimes working, mostly not. Are there any tips to get these to work?

I'm trying to burn some CD's using a mac. I've been successful using Memorex CD-R's, but the program (iTunes) is unresponsive when using Verbatim CD's. Does the brand of CD make that much of a difference to cause this to happen?

I'm starting to doubt this is even possible with this unit.
