    388 Results

Thx tsqair. In many respects we don't know what we're doing, but that's OK. We're going for a raw, lo-fi thing anyways. I'm most happy about the guitar sounds. Getting used to the Roland percussion pad for playing drum parts was a bit of a challenge. Also, not having a bass guitar changes the...

    "Scupper" - First home-recorded song

Please check out the first song I’ve completed using the Tascam 388 (and the first I've ever really engineered). Thanks to all of you here for the valuable advice I received along the way! http://www.myspace.com/blankuslarry - there’s only one song on there…that’s the one. Strat > Line6 and...

    388 Results

Please check out the first song I’ve completed using the Tascam 388 (and the first I've ever really engineered). I’m posting this on the MP3 Mixing Clinic board as well, but wanted to post it here because this board has been very helpful to me in getting the home recording thing going. Thanks to...

Mixing down from a 388 (with outboard effects)

Amost there! Nate: Thanks... when you say "effects chain" - should I run it into the reverb unit, and then on to the dig delay, then to the compression, then back to the 388? Thanks man!

Mixing down from a 388 (with outboard effects)

Hey all. We've finished recording our first song, and it's sounding great. We're ready to mix it down, but I don't know what I'm doing with effects. Here's what I've got: Tracks 1 and 2 are Roland drum tracks straight in. Tracks 3 and 4 are guitar (same performance take using orange amp miked...

To click-track or not to click-track..

A good drummer can play to a click w/o it sounding stale or sanitized. I'm actually not using a click much lately. I'm in a drum/guitar duo, and my guitarist makes significant use of the JamMan looping pedal... that's our click.

    TASCAM 388_Is this possible

I recently got a 388 and the recordings have been going great, but I've yet to use the outboard effects gear I've got... and I eagerly await responses to your question!

    Strange Voices?

Yeah, post a clip of the voices. Sounds like a pretty clear cut case of you be crazy... or EVPs... electro voice phenomenon. Very popular among ghost hunters.

Recording drums in the practice space: weigh in!

Are you able to track the drums without having other instruments/amps making noise at the same time? For the Leslie, which we've got in my band, we've always just put a dynamic (like the sm57) on the top speaker, and a dynamic (like a beta52 kick mic to capture lows) on the bottom speaker. As...

Someone sell me a Tascam 388!!

Did the black keys use a 388? I've been using a 388 for the past month, and have been floored by the sound quality...just amazing. Herm: I can't speak to the Tascam 38s, etc., but the 388 rules. It could be easier to use a separate board and transport, but I'm damn happy.

Using Cubase with a Sub mixer

I've been using Cubase recently, mostly to get recordings from analog equipment to digital. Right now, I'm trying to record directly into Cubase via a sub-mixer or other analog equipment, but I can't get it working correctly. Chain: Tascam 388 (stereo outs) > Lexicon Alpha (line 1 and line 2...

    need help choosing electronic drumset

I'd look into getting a Roland SPD-20 multi-pad. Smaller footprint than a full electric kit and you've got kick and high-hat pedal inputs. Very portable. You can also Midi out into a sampler like a Roland 404 to open up a universe of new sounds. And when you have a full kit down the line, you...

    SPD-20 Question

Can you import samples into this unit, or are you stuck w/ the pre-set sounds? Thanks.
