    rate the vocals please

Of course the vocals are good. It might be a good idea to try to de-emphasize the Ozziness, however. You will never escape the comparisons.

    simple acoustic stuff

I loved the vocals on this. Nice seperation, nice tracking, great performance. This song could definitely handle a more elaborate arrangement, though its good like this.

    Submitted for Your . . .

I would add some reverb to the vocals and maybe a bit to the entire mix. Really go for that nostalgic sound. Besides, the lead vocal is not quite sitting right.

    "Dream" remix

Maybe a few of you remember this. I retracked the slide guitars at the end and the vocals to cut down on the reverb a bit. I think this came out better all around. Thanks for the helpful suggestions. Dream http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2716&alid=-1

    House Cleaning

What a cool tune! I love the vocals and harmonies. The song structure is really cool as well. All the little touches you added really worked. Sounds like a keeper to me.

    For those who asked.

The vocals need compression and reverb, they are not sitting in the mix. Nice song though. BTW, once a song passes 2:30, you are on borrowed time, so ignore the previous advice and keep the length where it is.

    Rip me a new one...

Very nice and original. The drums and guitar are clear and present. The vocal is well up front. Good mix. Sounds like the distorted guitars could have been more "evil", but not sure what you were going for.

Here we go again! Supercritic, where are you!?

    This is not a cover

As for Fripp I am thinking of early King Crimson. Check it out, its pretty cool.

    For diversity's sake - a sad song!

Erland - Thanks for the listens. I appreciate it. lynx - Yeah, I wouldn't have recorded the song without that chord change. Seems to be the whole point of the song. I hope everyone agrees with the sparse arrangement.

    For diversity's sake - a sad song!

JasonBird - The fingerpicking is pretty dynamic so it sounds like its fading sometimes. Its just the way I played it. Maybe it sounds better played loud. I've thought about it but I just don't hear any percussion on this. Myx62 - Thanks for the comments. I tracked the vocal and guitars...

    This is not a cover

I thought it was 1972 for a minute. This is pretty cool, I especially like the guitar. Very Robert Fripp. The drums sound a little hotter than the other instruments. I would bring the guitar up a bit.

    Any thoughts on this song?

The acoustic sounds terrific here. Very nice. No one mentioned that so I thought I would. Agree with the other comments.

    For diversity's sake - a sad song!

This is a change of pace and a darker tune I wrote this week. I kept the arrangement simple because I couldn't think of anything to add. Let me know if you like it like this or suggest some adornments. Called "In the past" http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2716&alid=-1

HRC #4 What You Used To Be............

The acoustic sounds good but the electric is perhaps too fuzzy and indistinct. Could the vocal be a tiny bit more compressed? Nice singing though and a nice tune. Now you made us all feel like lazy slobs.
