Hi Folks, I'm trying to get a line on a switch that will activate and de-activate the record button on my tascam 388 for punch-ins when I am solo recording. Do I need to use a real deal or will any switch suffice? They are somewhat pricey. thank you!

Thought you might like to know I pulled the back off my 388 and sprayed some cleaner in the pot and it cleared right up! Yay!

Mixing to 2track reel to reel is great, but it can really compress things too much. Really change the sound.

No reason why you shouldnt. On some of these machines the line input doesn't go through a pre-amp so you need a separate one.
