hi,
I've read that bands/people used both d.i. and mic'ing in the 70's. Some like Paul McCartney used a combination of both and blended the sounds together during mixdown. I know a lot of these bands you mentioned also used Rickenbacker basses. These basses had/have a stereo output, this...
Skyflyer,
hi, yes the piano itself sounds great and your computer is plenty good enough for suitable recording.
and YES, you will need a new soundcard. If you want to get rid of that noise, you'll need a new soundcard. That's the sound of what I call 'bitter' (computer noise, mouse...
ouch!!
yeah dude. Sscientist got it for you. What the heck are you doing? don't you want to get your money's worth on that E-Mu card? Yes, this is an emergency....find the nearest trash can and immediately toss that SB live thing in it! :D
hi,
yeah, you pretty much answered your own question: you DEFINITELY need a new soundcard. Those integrated cards that come with computers have no place in recording pro audio. You have an electribe and a Rane mixer, obviously you have quality stuff..get yourself a quality card and you'll...
hi
if you're on a budget like that you should maybe think about getting a matched pair.
the mxl 603s will do you pretty good for acoustic guitar, since that is an instrument recorded in stereo often. The 603's will probably work for your voice too..,, voices can be a little tricky...
wow this is always a tough one.
I for one think pro tools is WAY overrated. I may get some flak for that, but hey it's just an opinion right? On the other hand, if most of the other studios/people you work with use pro tools you may have to dive in and go with it. I heard that pro tools...
glad to hear you're having fun and enjoying the smooth workflow of your new G5/logic setup. I'm still running G4's, no probs yet :) With the recent announcement of mac moving to intel chips **smacks forehead** d'oh! People are saying 'get the macs while they're still good!' lol :)
hi,
I ran into this problem too a couple of times. There's a couple things that you could do.
1. make sure that you are recording at a sampling rate that the plugins will handle. IE: some plugins like guitar rig will not work right at 24/96...
try recording at 24/48 for now (that...
hi,
first off, you've got to make sure that Reason adapted will let you load up refills in the first place. From what I understand, Reason adapted is propellerhead's name for a demo version of the full product. I know some guy was on here earlier with reason adapted and he couldn't get his...
hi
ableton is based on a drag and drop thing. You have to locate the sound files through the browser folders on the left hand side, find the one you want, and then drag it (as a cell) over to the session on the right.
I'm not really familiar with ACID or its files. But there's a program called Virtual PC that emulates XP on osx. make sure you have plenty of power if you get it though.
why does this guy constantly ask questions he already knows the answer to?
what is this.., is Bruce Swedien bored and deciding to screw with people?
mr manning,
I am tired of your doubletalk, it is worthless to continue the discussion with you especially since there is NO way I am going to purchase your 'product'.
buh-bye
