I think it sounds pretty good. The only thing that I hear with headphones is that sometimes the vocal does a bit of an image movement slightly to the left and back to center where she's doubling the vocals. It's just certain phrases or notes. On speakers it's not apparent at all, but on headphones I hear it. It's unlikely that I would change anything. The rest of the mix is well balanced.

I will say that your daughter has a really good voice. I've heard "professional" singers who don't have her tone and expression.

Not 100% sure, but it seems like the voice has some sort of saturation or distortion. Not clipping, just not a clear as the vocals see they should be. Just a thought.

Other than that, on my "normal" listening system (read shitty speakers) sounded very balanced. Nothing sticking out.

Thank you - it is odd - but when I burn a 320 MP3 I hear that funny movement - but on the wave file I don’t - I’m going to fix that and post again.

The Density of the vocal is all her - she has this way of crafting that produces this sound - I’ll take another listen and see what’s up.

Ill pass the compliment to Maggie -I uploaded a new version - tell me what you think.

So we buckled down and recorded - my Daughter Maggie worked hard - and I think I got the mix right.
Tell me what you think.
Nice work! She has a beautiful voice. I had to look up the original. I like this better than Taylor Swift’s version!

I can hear what others are talking about with the stereo image of the main vocals. For example at about 2:57 the word “list” moves into my left ear. Not sure what would cause that. Also, I’d prefer the guitar solo to be more centered..but that’s just me.

Very nice!

I thought the lead part was good until you mentioned it - I centered it - and I fixed the vocal - it is something funny to do with the Exciter and Desser I used.
See what you guys think now - oh I also mastered the MP3 at 320 kbit/s instead of 196 Kbit/s.

I think I like the guitar solo off to the side more. To me, it conflicts with the voice and gets pretty congested around the 5 minute mark.

You definitely fixed the wandering vocals.

Sounds great!
I definitely like the guitar solo centered, it’s the “vocals” while there’s no singing. If a guitar solo continues when the lead vocal starts up again the guitar can move to the side out of the way a bit. But there always needs to be something on center stage. Nicely done.
