When the Beatles put out the 50th anniversary remixes I made a big loop library out of all the outtake discs. I was primarily trying to get a Ringo drum sample pack, but I made a few hundred loops of everything. This track is an experimental rhythm track from those loops. It’s funny that when I posted this on YouTube over a year ago I still have not got a copyright strike? I thought their AI was on top of every sample?

I didnt expect to like it but i did! Probably not safe for epileptics though!
It cracks me up that, this track which is made up of loops cut from the Beatles gets almost no comments about that but I get tons of comments about the video. All I did was play the track and film the Peterson guitar tuner app on my phone because it was the fastest and simplest way I could film and post the video. I never imagined that the strobe tuner action would be the thing that created all the commentary rather than the Beatle loops.

Not sure my one post is loads, but get the point. I suspect it's the old thing about when you work on audio editing, the person who walks in and listens has no idea if you did 100 edits or 3? As a result, while the end product is easy to comment on, the process isn't.

It’s not dinged on Copyright because there is no identifiable Beatles sounds - although I can tell they are Beatles - it’s not a song that they ever released - aside from the counting parts (which you can tell they Beatles) there aren’t any vocals or melody to recognize either.

Actually most of these loops are from alternate takes of songs that were previously released and in fact these exact CDs were released in the 50th anniversary remix box sets. This brings up an interesting topic. AI music kinda does the same thing, but in much smaller samples. So we have the ever loving question as to where does intellectual property live in all of this?

I just did this as a fun experiment as well as create a Ringo drum sample library that I can then use with Slate trigger as a drum replacement pack that gives me the ability to use Ringo’s drums on new original songs.

It is identifiable as Beatles samples to anyone with an ear, and they have been released on records.

I have a Beatles Ear - and the mashup can’t be identified with a given song to me - it’s more like there are Beatles elements - sort of like AI wrote it.

RI….lol (Real Intelligence)….

It’s entirely Beatles elements. I have made over 1000 Beatle loops all extracted from outtakes and alternate takes. I may start really using some of it. I was worried that I’d have trouble posting music with these Beatle loops.

While I can hear the Beatles in it, something like Shazaam probably doesn't have anything to correlate with a full song. The snippets are too short for the melody to be identified.

It's weird how Youtube does strikes. I have posted quite a few videos from jam sessions, and only a few have been flagged, and that just means that I don't get any money, not that I've ever gotten a penny. These are primarily for a select group of people. Most views are under 100 anyway.

What was really weird was when I did a virtual video for Covid, when we couldn't meet up. I stitched together a bunch of bits from the previous years, and the only notification that I got was for "Pretty Woman" which was about a minute of the 20 something minute video. Plus the video was restricted only to people who have the link, not in my public feed.

I hope Roy Orbison's estate spends the .00000012 cents wisely! ??
