So I found a bunch of 1980's synthesizer samples on the internet and have made an entire track out of it, hope someone likes it. I basically have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to this genre, tips and advice is welcome..

I thought that was interesting! I'm curious how much of the melody was already contained in the samples versus created by you?

Anyway, it seems you do have some idea of what you're doing.

As for "this genre," there's such a wide diversity in electronic music that there are no rules. I have an old album of electronic music-- which someone posted to YouTube-- and as far as I'm concerned it's just random crap with no musicality or composition to it; I never could stand to listen to more than a few minutes of it without taking it off and putting on something better. I'll take Wendy Carlos' "Timesteps" over that any day!

Nothing, the samples are just notes, or what you would call it. I've put in all notes to make the melodies. Thanks so much for the reply :D
