I was impressed by the demos of the B9 - Lt Bob did one I'm sure. I was very tempted by it but THIS!!
I'm a 'Tron Nut. & this pedal sounds amazing in the vids.
I have no interest in the sax and clarinet settings but the rest are cool.
At present I cut & paste single note .wav samples of various Mellotron tape sets into my tracks when & where needed.

Guys I'm getting impatient waiting for my new SG over here....I whipped out the card to buy this, but they didn't have my size (extra-dumpy)...:D.

I'm not gonna promise this, but I did borrow a pretty nice little video camera today, as Tad's vid was so cool, I thought I might try one myself, but again, not gonna promise anything, we'll see what time the new toy arrives tomorrow...:).

Ray you should be able to find a freebie Mellotron vsti dude, that you could use instead of the one-shot wav thing....

I know you use BIAB, but do you use other daw's??? You could throw a freebie vsti into Reaper, & be able to get close to those keyboard sounds for free dude, just sayin'....:).

Oh yeah, the guitar in that vid, looks just like my Ibanez, except mine has black p'ups...

Edit: Dunno now man, I was in the middle of watching the vid you posted. But with some tinkering, you still might be able to get some of those sounds in Reaper with some free vsti's...

125 quid for an angus suit!! Holy Shit!

OK, surfs been great all weekend so far so I've only just had a chance to sit down and upload a couple of tracks I recorded when I installed the new speaker. The first is my old Rocket 50, the second is the Vintage 30. All amp settings and mic placement are identical in both clips.

The V30 spanks the Rocket 50 most severely. :D I'm not a fan of that amount of gain, personally, but it works for that style I suppose. :D

Yeah, its a massive difference isn't it.

As of next Wednesday (a week tomorrow) I am off work for 11 days. So I'm looking forward to really getting some recording done with it. Lots of time during office hours where I can make some noise and get some singing done too.

Cool, I'm off work for 14 days, starting next Monday. I'm hoping to get quite a bit done, too.

What are you gonna do? Slap us with an empty white glove and give us a stern talking to?

Yeah, something like that... while twirling our moustaches in a sinister manner and fiddling with our cigar cases.

Excellent! We can hit back at the yanks who've be dominating The New Tone Thread lately!

Absolutely. I have a 28-knobber just waiting to give its all for the tone thread.

We're going to melt your faces off with intense toanage. :D

A band I was on the road with got a mellotron ..... what a POS!
It was super picky about line voltages and when they weren't right it wouldn't be in tune ..... by a LOT!

I'll never forget we had one shipped to us in Chattanooga around 1972 ...... hooked it up and worked up some tunes during rehearsal at the club .... we were excited about it, ya' know? ....... that night when it came time to use it Rod ( a doofus keyboarder) hit a big chord and held it ..... even though it was like, a half tone off key!
He just looked over at us with a big grin on his face holding this terrible sounding out of tune noise ..... and holding it .......... and holding it .......... :laughings:

On Sunday I re-strung a 100 year old bowl back mandolin. It was a pain in the arse. It was really painful - the tuners were ivory, really stiff and about the size of a small shirt button. It sounds completely shit so was basically a pointless exercise.

I watched that demo yesterday and immediately went shopping for one. Not available anywhere yet, unfortunately. I will have one...oh yes, I will have one.

That will really come in handy if you get a gig writing film scores for 60s style horror and science fiction movies. :D

Ok guys, the new git-fiddle finally arrived, & here's the first thing I played on it, just messing around with it, trying to get a feel for it....Seems this guitar is way more touch responsive/sensitive than my LP, way more. Seems like it's a keeper so far, here's a short, shitty clip:

Signal chain:
SG > DSL > '65 >i5

DSL:
100w mode
OD1
Resonance: 0
Presence: 4
Bass: 5
Middle: 5
Treble: 2
Gain: 2
Vol: 3

SG>DSL>65>i5

I'm fuckin' loving it so far, & it should only get better with time as I get more used to it....This clip may be a little fizzy, but a new guitar & mic are my excuses this time 'round......:D.

Something I will have to do to it is stick a piece of foam under the strings at the nut & between the bridge/tailpiece...I'm getting the same "ping" noise my LP had...

I might have to raise the action just a little if I'm gonna play any slide on this thing...that's a maybe, might just be me right now...

Seems this thing has just got more balls to the sound compared to my Lester, maybe it's the p'up differences, the wood, maybe it's just cause I'm tickled to fuckin' death, but so far, this thing's great. I love my little LP, & I know this is the "honeymoon" phase, but the way this guitar responds to my playing, & feels is way different, & way better (so far) than my LP has ever been...Even with the volume knob(s) cranked, when I pick lighter, it cleans up pretty good...
