a great collab this was, between myself and Virtualan (https://soundcloud.com/virtualan)

a blend of cool synth grooves, in the pocket drums, and wild guitar excursions,
the story finds it's genesis in an ancient Aboriginal story about "the Wagilag sisters"
(Wagilag Sisters)

alan and I experimented with different synth voice, different drum kit approaches,
blended several 'groove elements' to get a somewhat tribal groove going,
mixed with a modern moving synth sequencer element,
all comes together into this song,
hope you enjoy it.

Some excellent parts, some parts very busy for my taste. The singers tone and emotion doesn't seem to fit the tune that well, but its a good effort all around.

thanks for listening and commenting, pdp, appreciate it!

yep, it's busy, it's kinda the nature of the subject matter..
imagine going to a big bustling city for the first time, in a place in the world you've never been,
and seeing all the action, the hustle, the strange dialects, the smells, the people, the buildings....

it WOULD be kinda busy, eh?

that was the point.

as far as the singer's tone and emotion, i think it's perfect for the song!
it tells the story exactly as it happened, and was exciting to re-tell the story, and kind of reliving the experience in the emphasis of the singing,
it's kinda loud and proud and in your face, telling all the world....

at least, that was the goal.
heheh

It's a little weird, Doo Bro. Interesting, but just not my cup of tee. Sounds great though :D

a little weird, yes.
LOL

i thought so too, when i first heard it..
but all i had to start with, was the synths and the drums,
i wanted to see where i could take it.
it's kinda trippy, especially if your trippin'

Yeah probably in the right state of mind it's great lol.

exactly!!

you know, i did the big collab with Wookiee, that became the 'heaven' song off the new album...

this particular project with virtualan, was a bit different...
just because of the difference between the choices of synth voices that wookiee used on his composition,
and virtualan used on his...

i don't work that often with synth tracks like this..
they take up almost ALL of the available frequency ranges, so i had to do very specialized carving of freqs, to get them to play nice.
it was a great learning experience....
