Rode NT1 vs Rode NT1

Is there a difference in sound between the Rode NT1 from 1997 and the newer NT1s?
 
I have both.

My perception is that the newer NT1 is all round smoother and even in its response. I like it better.

I've only read reviews online but gecko is right - the new ones appear to be better than the original.
 
It's worth noting that the new NT1 is not just a re-issue of the old NT1 with a new colour.

It has been redesigned (electronically) around a capsule (HF6) designed by Rode form scratch.
 
The old NT1's are classics. I have 2 and still use them on guitar cabs and drum overheads. I do sometimes record vocals with them if I have a choir type setup going on. In the late 1990's I recorded a lot of vocals on albums that sounded great. My first edition NT2 from the same era still gets used a lot as well.

I don't have any newer NT1's but I do have a couple of NT000's that get a lot of use.
