I think I have a ghost

Over the past few days, several of my mic stands have been drooping. My drum overhead mics, mics left up on a cab, snare mic, all of them keep drooping down overnight. This has never happened before and I leave stuff up literally all the time. If it were just one mic stand doing it, I'd be like, okay, no big deal. But I've got 5 different mic stands, of varying type and style, straight and boom, doing it consistently. Nothing has changed. Not the weather, not my A/C, nothing. Has to be a ghost fucking with me. My only recourse is to blow his fucking ears out.

I don't think so. She never messes around in here, and she's not the practical joke type. She hates practical jokes, especially with me, because my jokes are destructive, scary, and generally cause lots of emotional distress. She don't want that fight. I'll fake my own death and jump out of the coffin just to win a practical joke battle.

Right enough...She messes with your mic stands...You break out the cling film...

We all know what happens there. :)
 
Shelf life - forced obsolesence. Just part of our 'buy it and throw it away' world.

If this was in Oz last year we would say Gillard did it. She was blamed for everything.

Mine started doing that after about a year or two. I took the ratchet apart and replaced the material with a high density rubber from the hardware store. I super glued it onto place, drilled out the hole and then reassembled it. That solved it.

Ok, an update since this thread saw life again.

Mic stands are not drooping anymore.
