So I assembled a studio setup thinking everything I got were going to make it great quality but I'm wrong. I'm confused I got pro tools on a windows 7 I also have connected a presonus audiobox usb which I have my mxl 990 connected to and my krk rokit pro 5s connected also with both brand new mogami cables and the speakers are new and the interface I got it in like new condition from ebay the mic is also brand new I thought everything would run perfect but I'm wrong. The krks are new but always make a pop sound the mic when I record it has a hiss and it also comes out on the recorded track and when I have the finish product my voice for some reason comes out having a bass in it when I also use a double pop filter , it also echoes every time I have it in full playback so every time I record I have to bring it all the way to the other side barely hearing the beat idk why it makes these noises if everything is new can someone please help me out thanks so much for the time

the presonus box is working with protools? im pretty new to recording but i thought protools only accepted m-audio interfaces

Yes PT should work.
But perhaps like many others here I don't have it and know Jack about it. The Audiobox comes with Studio One, maybe someone here can help you with that? Or download the old fave' Audacity. We all have some experience of than and thus it can be used to prove out the hardware.

Start at the beginning. Does the A box play out Youtube, radio? Can you play a CD? If so rip the tunes and insert the .wav into Audacity...Works, yes/no... follow a systematic path to nailing the problems.

Dave.

That's way old news. Pro tools hasn't done that since Pro Tools 8

Protools M-powered was, and is, tied to M-audio interfaces.
PT version 8 and lower was tied to digidesign interfaces.
PT HD is tied to qualified HD interfaces,
and PT 9/10/11 is open to the whole interface market.

Pops when recording are usually caused by plosives, i.e. getting too much air from 'p' and 'b' and ao on, which is why you use a pop filter. They could also be electrical, but eliminate one source of problmes first.

Hiss is usually caused by too much gain. Too much bass is often caused by getting too close (the proximity effect).

Echoing is more than likely caused by a routing problem, i.e. a combination of hardware monitoring and software monitoring or similar.

Start off with basics, and do as Dave suggests. Firstly, just play stuff and monitor and make sure that all sounds ok.

Could also be a low buffer size! Unless it's recorded directly onto the track. Then it's likely what you're saying.
