Its time to upgrade my laptop and as Apple no longer have firewire ports my apogee will be surplus to requirements.

I don't really want to pay out the 400.00 for a 2 port USB Duet, will the Focusrite USB Audio Interface do the same job ?

I use the 2i2, I have had no issues and it sounds good to me.

I really like Apogee (they might be my favorite with MOTU coming in second). But the Focusrite will definitely suffice.

I thought Thunderbolt was backwards compatible to Firewire or at the very minimum required an adapter. Not an Apple guy, but seems like I have read this somewhere before. You might want to check.

It is. Don't know why I didn't even think of that.

We'll make it a liter beer and share ;)

As long as it's not too bitter like IPA or something like that. You ever had that beer? Taste like a can of paint. I'm a fan of lighter beers. :)

Big Wheat beer fan (no orange either). I don't like beer that is too strong either.
