(sorry guys, had to take this down. I need to re-write parts of it; lyrics here, music there. I'll put it back up soon.)

Cool, mix sounds good. I think the guitars are a touch loud in some spots, your losing the drums and vocals. Not a big deal, we're talking small amounts. Everything else sounds great.

Awesome. Glad I checked in while re-mixing. I was doing something else to the mix when I read your comment, so I'm turning down the guitars as we speak. I thought they might be loud, but I just love the sound of that SG so much that I might have gotten carried away with it a bit. :)

In about 5 minutes the same link will have a new mix with the guitars down a teenage c**t-hair.

Ah, you got one out. :( I'm still working on lyrics myself. You win!!! (I can read your edits.... :D)

Hehe...That's funny. In my OP, before I edited it, I said the same thing: "Hey Chili. I win!!! :D". (oops....just realized you said you can read my edits. Guess I didn't have to tell you all that).

It's pretty much finished, but when I went to bed last night, all of a sudden a bunch of better lyrics started coming to me. So, I want to re-record a couple of lines. It wasn't half-assed, but I rushed a couple of lines just to finish the song, and it wasn't as good as it could have been. Maybe I'll just post the music later until I re-record the vocals.

Damn bro. I thought the worst! :p
Looking forward to hearing it.

I'll put it up by the weekend. It was one of those songs where I didn't rhyme lines, which often works. In this case, it just made every line sound weird. It needed a conventional rhyme scheme, and I tried to go against it. Didn't work this time, though it often works. I have a great title, great music, and a great chorus, but the verses grated on me.

Like I said, I might just mute the vocals for now and put up the instrumental until I finsh it, so that this thread isn't just a waste of space for now. I didn't mean to make this a ".................." thread deliberately. :D

That SG does sound great. May I ask what amp and microphone you use ? That is a nice chunky rock tone.

Hehe....I think you're the only person that heard it before I took it down. I'll put up the instrumental later on today, so others can comment or not.

But to answer your question, I'm using the SG into a Fender Super Champ X2. I'm using a "60's British" sound for the rythms (doubled and panned), and a " Fender Super Sonic" sound for the leads. Mic'ed with an SM57 about half way between the middle and edge of the speaker. Thanx for the comments on that. :)

OK, here's the instrumental. I put it in my first post, but since we're on page 2, it's also here:

Listening to the instrumental.

That middle guitar sounds bad ass. The guitars overalll have more "rock" to them than your usual stuff. Fucking SGs rule. Snare seems to have a little more meat than usual too. Sounds real good.

I like it Rami - is that your new SG? Even without vocals it has a great arrangement. Love the piano interlude for dynamics.

That's great to hear. I didn't know if I was just imagining that the SG sounded rockier because I wanted it to sound better, but I definitely am happy with it.

The snare is just voodoo. I didn't do anything different. I don't even think I tuned it before tracking, I just sat and played. Maybe that's trick. :D

Thanx man.

Yup. New SG. That piano part is the chorus. I think I'm happy with this tune so far, and I rarely get too excited about my tunes after working on them for a while.

Thanx guys.

The chorus vocals and most of the verses are already done. I just need to do a couple of lines in the verses and it will be finished.

You aren't imagining anything. Those guitars do sound more ballsy than your previous tracks. Them's some rock and roll guitars.

Speaking of weird snare shit, I had a lug totally detune one time without my knowing it, I guess from my heavy handed rimshots, and that snare track ended up sounding awesome.

in full disclosure, I wrote "You win" before reading the edits. :D

I'll confirm: that SG has got a nice bite to it.

All else sounds good. Can't to hear the end product.

Cool rock guitars - I enjoyed the change of tone & emphasis with the piano too.
Classic rock guitars & valve amps - you're becomeing a classicist.
Great backing track!
