it seems that Tascam has loaded 1.13 version of their firmware I guess the latest and greatest..... Pretty surprised to say the least !!!

Interesting ... the Tascam website lists the latest update (June 2013) as version 1.12.

Looks like you have a setup like mine, what console is that? Thanks

Cool!

Congrats!

Your setup is very nice & looks very flexible & forward-looking! That's probably how I'd recommend or envision my setup, if I were to get a DP24,... with a highly capable front end mixer. However, once you do this it's no longer a Portastudio. A "Portastudio" is a small, self-contained, single unit solution, by definition.

Your sweet looking setup points out some of the deficiencies in the DP24's design, (no front end mixing/input-to-track architecture), but I guess you can't have everything in one box these days, (or can you?). Nonetheless, by the looks of that picture I think you're doing it right.

Some people may not think input-to-track architecture is a limiting design, so I may be all alone on this, IDK.

:spank::eek:;)

Looks like a cool set up.
I wonder what the 1.13 update does different than the 1.12.

Are able to get individual track returns from your DP24 back into your Mackie board?

that would be cool but don't know how you would do it, the DP only has inputs for each track. I use my console to run everything through 1st, I have the 8 sub groups connected to the 8 inputs on the DP. :D

Yeah, I would use the DP24 just to record, playback and mastering.
As much as I love using the DP24 in my home studio for demos, only having 2 dedicated effect sends is a bummer.

I wish they would come out with a new model with 3 or 4 sends, I'd buy it in a minute! :thumbs up:

....no that would be great if it has 24 returns..

First thing I did was go to get my saved file and load 1.12.. but when I looked at the versions it said 1.13 ... I was a bit confused at first..

I was sooo close in getting that one as well nice board !!

What sold me was the "B" mix channels, the 2 headphone busses, and the built in talkback, and the meter bridge. I use the B mix for headphone mixes, it works great. I had a house gig years ago and they had the board you have, I loved mixing on it.

Just dialed in the drums.. only took 2 hrs. but what a great drum sound !!! very big.. and I have so much more level space the then neo.. just getting in to the green ..with so much more room..and yes powered down and all settings are saved.. the 2 gig card only gives you 1.11 MBs worth of space.. so basically 39 seconds for six drum tracks... LOL

Actually someone came in and wanted to play a drum track so he could play it for his friends or who ever.. so I said ..I only got this 2g card for know...pretty surprised I got a solid 5 minute 6 track of drums..from mix to masters and CD everything went smooth.. no freezing or errors and I really pushed it ..so much for what it says on the time remaining...LOL
