Hey guys,

So I recently did an electronic album from scratch for my school project after completing 2 years of audio school. I was tasked to write, produce, mix and master everything in 4 and a half months. I think the album is decent..... I have almost no training in Mastering and I'm not great at writing. Let me know what you guys think of the songs mix wise. I was going for a really unique ambient feel to the tracks. The tracks are at capeolympia(dot)bandcamp(dot)com. Any feedback will be welcomed and paid attention to!

You didn't specify a particular song, so I chose "Carolina" at random.

Overall it's not bad.

I think the low end is a little too strong. Kind of boomy.

Mix is pretty loud to my ear. But it didn't seem to harm the mix.

Hey thanks for the feedback! I did have an issue with low end at the first master. Cut back at 60-70hz and felt that improved the boominess while still retaining the subs. What do you think of the consistency among tracks or mix uniqueness?

For consistency I went to Carolina as well...
Bass - not so much boomy as uncontrolled - needs a tightener/manager.
The mix seems to lack any middle ground. It's lows & highs with nothing substantial in the middle.
Some stuff gets pretty loud. The panning effect seemed to create a pressured feeling in my ears - rather like out of phase speakers.

Hmmm was afraid of that. In the past, my mixes were always mid heavy. Guess I'm overcompensating now. How would you suggest making the bass tighter/controlled?

Yeah that was a slow rotary speaker effect. Wanted a psychadelic feel to the transition.
