midi keyboard dosent work anymore with abelton 8

Hi guys, i have had abelton 8 for few months, everything working fine, making beats, with akaiLPK25 and korg kontrol pad.

Randomly both these midi usb instruments no longer work in abelton.. it said once or twice that another application is using them.. but its not??

ive tried different cables, usb portals and wasted many hours??? help me please its so frustrating.

I use PC, windows 8. ( cracked copy of abelton 8)

Hi.

First - I have friends that work very hard at Ableton, so I just want to point out that cracked software is bad because it's essentially spitting on the hard work of these people that invest so much to make the program what it is.

Second - have you checked your MIDI devices in Live's preferences to make sure everything is lined up properly there?

um yes i spent hours trying everything including preferences its more than just that because other music programmes ( which i bought ) midi dosent work there either.

Iam saving up to buy abelton 9 but thanks for your stern telling off....

Hmm... If they're not working at all with any MIDI software then it's some sort problem with the PC picking up the MIDI signals. The only thing is that I'm not familiar with Windows 8 at all, and haven't used Windows for music work in well over a year so I'm not sure how it handles the virtual inputs of MIDI controllers. I recommend looking into that though.


Are they recognized as devices when you plug them in?

This is not a good site to discuss "cracked" software.

You will need to look at your MIDI mappings in Ableton Preferences. If you are using a USB to MIDI, you may be missing a driver or it sounds like it is in your Windows setup. If any other software is open that has MIDI, then it is using it.
