Not gonna happen but, what if you could rewrite a line or phrase of one of your favorite commercial songs.
What would it be?

"Well she was just seventeen
And you know what I mean
And the way she looked
Was way beyond compare

So how could I dance with another
Ooo, when I saw her standing there?"

I'd change the 'ooo' to a desperate cry of pain, like, if the elephant man were to panic while his mouth was full.

Guess I would rewrite some of the lyrics of *What does the fox say*

I just don't know what foxes would say though.

Kinda like when corn kernels comes out and you haven't had corn in weeks.

Corn you found in your dishwasher then. My bad. :(

I will banish myself.

Now am gonna be up all night contemplating vegetable migration.

Corn in-corn out. Maybe you just used a delay sim that had really bad latency?

There are few songs from bands I like or liked that I detest more than "Beth". I'm usually more than tolerant to ballads by the heavy boys, indeed some of the best slushy ballads were by the heavy rockers. But Beth........
Sheesh kebab ! That song deserved a jail sentence. Or at least a public flogging.

You should live around here Henry. The foxes in Kingsbury say "Weeeeeeeaaaiirrrrr mmmllleppp mmmlepppp Weeeaaaaiiirreee !" at ridiculous volumes in the middle of the night ! I had to shout out the window the other day to tell them to shurrup. My wife had a go at me the next day but I pointed out the foxes weren't saying anything after I bawled them out !

Milk just shot out of my nose. And I wasn't even drinking milk !
That reminds me of something I saw in a blue movie that my sister took me to in 1981.
Except the milk wasn't shooting out of anyone's nose........

I forgot why I replied in this thread !
I can't off the top of my head think of any lines I'd rewrite {there are some though}. But I remember the song "Roundabout" by Yes, I thought part of the lyric went ;

In and around the lakes
Martins come out of the sky
And they stand there.....

I thought it was such a fantastic lyric, such stunning imagery, martins {being birds, housemartins}, flying out of the sky and standing there. So you can imagine my disappointment years later when I saw the actual lyric and it wasn't martins at all, it was mountains ! How lame, plain, boring, unimaginative and bland ! Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there. How utterly predictable. Like a cheap tourist postcard poem !! Piss off !

So I'd rewrite that line.....

Guess I would rewrite the lyric to Telstar by The Tornadoes. :p

Probably off the intended subject here, but I was encouraged in a song writing exercise one time to do just that both with the lyrics and the song structure. The idea was to use the established song to expand your own writing skills. This was not to actually plagiarize and release that tune as the goal, but as a simple exercise tool.
