Looking for a matched pair of small condenser microphones to predominantly record my guitar. Was looking at some SE 1a's and a pair of m audio pulsars. Know there are some at-4041sp's and rode nt5's at a price bump up and wasn't sure if it was worth the extra couple of hundred in quality. Was planning on recording an upcoming EP with these and do want it to be close to studio quality.

Google up Oktava microphones and take a look at their SDC's. ;)

Personal Favourite: AKG C451 (expensive and hard to get).

Close Second: The sE1A mics are great and I use them a lot--highly recommended by me. They have the crisp, detailed quality you need for stereo miking an acoustic but still have a pleasantly warm quality.

Mojave Audio has matched MA100s, those sound great on acoustic guitar.

I have found that using different mics can sound very interesting. for example an AKG C4000B and a fat head ribbon.
