I did, I've got some great tips! Not only about the topic but about producer/engineer-artist relations, oppinions about the beatles, egg prices in russia (about 10 swedish kronor SEK/12 eggs) and other :)
 
The price of eggs in russia is really the only valuable info in this thread.

This thread has nothing to do with me "defending" producers on a global scale (the way you seem to dislike them), that's just another wrong assumption on your part. I don't think every producer is great, but there are those whose work I respect and understand their role and what they brought to the sessions.

You like to lob provocative comments into a thread to get it all going (that's no secret or anything new)....then you always finish off with the classic LOL@_______ responses and some personal shots at the people who disagree with you.
This thread is no different than many others.....think about that.

I was sincerely curious about why you dislike producers, since you state it so strongly, and I had no secret motives for asking. You did have motives for bringing it up...to stir up the thread.

Uh, no. Wrong again, as usual. Your default mechanism to just disagree with me has steered you wrong, again. And where are the personal shots? I haven't said anything about you. Who have I insulted? Get over yourself. Wait, I get it, I insulted producers, and you desperately want to be one, you cherish any opportunity to wear that badge, you love calling the shots, you need that shit, so you take my opinions about producers personally. My comments regarding producers and their uselessness are very much relevant to this thread. No stirring, just an opinion, that you can't handle. As I've said repeatedly, from the very beginning, let the fucking guitarist choose his sound. You can't abide with that because you have to be the fucking boss of each and every scenario, online and in your personal life, and of course, because I dare say something that's outside the box, and stand behind it. That drives you fucking insane. I don't do it intentionally. I'm just a man that speaks his mind, stands behind it, and you can't handle it. Again, that's your problem dude, not mine.

I love all the endless assumptions you've made in your post...simply because I asked you WHY you dislike producers without any reservations and think they are ALL useless.
WOW! I didn't think it was such a difficult question, nor did I mean for it to get you so upset. :D

Rather than simply explaining why you feel the way you do about producers (since you say it's "relevent")...as usual, you flip things around and put it back on me (or whoever you happen to be disagreeing with)...no surprise.
At least I explain the views that I post up on the forum, and then you can agree or disagree, that's fine....but to make negative blanket statements about something, and then not explain why....it's really NOT "relevant" at all to the discussion, other than as a provocative statement intended to stir things up and draw attention to yourself.
 
I've explained myself perfectly. All of my comments about a producer's role and letting the artist do their thing are topical. That's what the thread was about. The OP has a guitarist that maybe uses shitty reverb. Record it from the amp, or add it later? Where's the confusion? What is it that you don't get about what I'm saying? I've carefully peppered my posts with a bunch of IMO's and "I think" in an attempt to portray my ideas as the opinions they are and not in any way fact. You've tried like hell to prove me wrong, and I think it's for two reasons, and neither of them are good: 1) as always, you disagree with me by default, and B) you're a wannabe and my comments about producers in general offend you. Funny how NO ONE else cares the way you do. Funny how NO ONE else is as lost and confused as you are. Why? Why do you feel you have to badger me and/or everyone else to death when we disagree?

From the miroslav-webster dictionary:
"Stir-the-pot": v.
1) Any act of disagreeing with miroslav
2) Saying anything that miroslav doesn't like

I've not tried to "prove you wrong" about anything. I even said I could understand you having that view if it came from a personal bad experience with producers. I never said you must use a producer or that they are all great....so all this other shit...is just you trying to turn it on me and trying to offend me with your little personal shots and assumptions about what you think I do in the studio and who I am.
I'll just remind you that we are all here on "Home Recording"....so you tell me who's who.

You said earlier you didn't want to explain your reason for disliking producers because it would "offend a lot of people" here....now you say you've explained it...?

Really miro, how much farther do you want to go with this? How many pages can we repeatedly disagree over the same ol stuff over and over? Your passive-aggressive thinly veiled barbs are quite hypocritical. Lighten up, man. Joke around a little. You take this stuff way too seriously for way too long. Let's move on.
 
I don't really take any of this seriously, and am kinda miffed as to why you have?

For someone who doesn't care what people think, why would you care about me disagreeing with you so much?
I mean, you disgaree with me equally....and I don't start tossing little personal shots at you about your recording methods or anything like that?

I thought it was just a discussion about the artists/producer/engineer relationships and how they differ in the HR world comapred to the pro world. It was that simple.
All this other stuff from you....just smoke and a good chuckle.

Anyway...I got some recording to do tonight...so I'll have to think about what role I will play....songwriter, musician, engineer or producer....or maybe all of them. I'm not sure anymore....I don't want to upset anyone if I make some producer decisions.
