Like it a lot!! The panning / tremelo element is a little too much because it's a bit of a fat sort of sound for that sort of effect in the background. It needs to be brought down or thinned out. Those are not technical terms......(as if you don't know)....just they way I describe things:) The main vocal is great but could be a bit brighter or at least brought up somewhat. All in all.....great song. Well done!!

Thanks Mickster. I just made a few fixes to the mix and will send a new link(s) to the new one and the previous mix after a few minutes, Thanks.

Sounds pretty good. I hear all sorts of references on the song. The drum beats remind me of a tune from the 50's or 60's, maybe from Jungle Book(the tunes on the cartoon are pretty jazzy), heard some things like from Grace Jones, really crazy tune musically. Seemed balance for what it is (I didn't listen to the first version, just the new.)

Just took another listen and it seems that you brought the vocal up a bit and added some presence to it too.....maybe. Probably just me but that rotary keyboard effect still gets in the way somehow. I can't be sure but I'm thinking the song smooths out a lot without the effect. Or if it wasn't such a wide pan. Keep in mind that the rotary effect on the keys lays over like a blanket......dulling the song clarity a bit and adding a lot of middle. As always.......just my opinion and only my opinion :) Did I mention it's a cool song !!

I'm not sure - I'm kind of on the fence. It's still there of course, and on headphones I'd call it "borderline annoying". It's definitely better than it was, but I hear what you're saying about "still gets in the way." I wonder if the effect is automatable? If he could scale it back in the intro, where it's most noticeable, and then bring it up when things kick in, it might be the best way to do it.

And I'd say to still bring up the vocal a bit.

Edit - I was on headphones. I'm sure on speakers it's not nearly as annoying.

Thanks again Mickster. I tried to fix all those things that were mentioned here, tremolo/panning on rhodes + I did a lot of HP's on rhodes, voc level / precense, hmm.. something else - can't remember:). I noticed that organ thing as well but was too lazy to fix it. Will fix it soon. And thank you for your kind words.

Are we talking about that rhodes effect throught the song ( which I already fixed) or organ rotary effect? Everything can be automated.

Sounds like the Rhodes to me. Kicks in around 0:12. And yes...for sure it's more annoying on cans. Sound is too fat.....too wide. IMO only :)

Sounds fresh sigfrid, the only tweak I would suggest is to tighten up the lower end freqs, but I'm listening with a sub. The vox is sitting in good, although some prefer the up-in-front vocal mix. Groovin!

I think it's just in the bass, AWESOME drum sound!

Thanks wjgypsy. I'll check what I can do to the bass(es). There are 2 different bass lines (4 diff bass sounds) and I already tried to cut that synth bass but I didn't like the results. Let see what I can do.

sounds really nice sigfrid. very hip stylings. so how did this come to be? is it a band or all you?

There's a dense Steely Dan or Godley & Creme Englishman In NY vibe to some of this.
The chorus is pretty full on - might be good to bring a couple of elements down a little just to give it some 'air".
Very well done without being my cup of tea.

Thanks rayc. I already promised myself that I'm done with the mix but....maybe I still try to do something for the chorus. :)

The drums are right during the chorus, but I think you could cut them a bit when the wind instrument and the vocal are doing their thing during the quieter verses. Organ down a dB?
