Ok. I emailled kennis music via their website asking if it was them who had emailled me and I just got a reply saying it wasn't and that this is indeed a scam.
Thanks for all you're advise guys. I was suspicious all along, but when you have aspired all your life to get paid for what you love doing, then of course an offer like this is gonna excite you a little!
The b*st*rds.

ya man.. that sucks that you kinda had your hopes up.. but for most of us shit doesn't happen like that.. overnight.. over the internet..

don't worry though.... work your ass off.. write good music.. things will happen if you have the drive/talent

Hopefully you read this thread. Here, allow me to point out the obvious...

It's a scam. Block them from your email address and never think about it again.

What is it about first posting noobs posting weird queries in threads that are years old all of a sudden?

You go to all that trouble to register but can't even phrase your own question in your own thread...

A google search led him/her here. They couldn't care less about forum etiquette. Doubt he/she will even come back to say thanks.

The recording company isn’t owned by a Nigerian prince is it? Wanting you to help him move a large sum of cash out of the US? :laughings:

Sounds legit to me.

Yup, me too.

"kennis music" is interested in hes music and that they would pay him and the other members in hes group $50,00 as soon as they finish an "agency agreement form"

This happens quite frequently in the music business. Unknown companies, based in Nigeria, scour websites looking for amateurs to give 50 grand to, then they do right away without asking for anything. There are no red flags here whatsoever. If there ever was a sure thing in life, this is it. I would sign that form immediately and then just camp out at my mailbox waiting for that check.

I agree. Unsolicited deals with mystery Nigerians brokered over the internet have had nothing but good press and should always be treated with zero scepticism due to their undoubted veracity.

Can I give you my banking numbers and password? You seem honest... :D

It's times like this that I wish that I had an alias bank account.

The fact this is even a post on top of the fact there's 4 pages of replies is ...interesting. The only way this could be more suspicious is if the website was named "ThisIsLegitAndNotAScamTrustME.com" . Cmon do you really feel like whatever you have posted on the internet is worth a $30,000 check before even meeting with anyone? I'd go for it.

Kidkage owns that domain.

Having recently had experience with similar emails being sent to me from several different 'people' regard buying a large expensive diamond I have for sale, I concur with the...

'rrrrRRRRRUUUUUUUN'

...advice.

In researching, I found that even accepting PayPal, Cashiers Checks, or Money Orders is not a sure way of protecting yourself. Those modes of payment are heavily weighted toward protecting the consumer. Even weeks after the money has been deposited and cleared, they can come back claiming they did not receive whatever merchandice, get their money back, and you are left with a huge debt. In the meantime, they have gotten whatever they wanted from you, usually including some of the money they sent you in the first place, freshly laundered through your bank account.

Stoopid Scammers are pretty smart.:(

edit: I read this whole thread, although I didn't check posting dates until afterward.
