I need Honest opinions from you syndical types..

This is a work in progress, first I don’t like the horn bridge, I’ll replace it with something later. This started out as a reggae song and morphed into something closer to techno-dance. I don’t know how you classify it at this point.
Anyway, please let me know what you think. I spent all day MLK holiday creating it using NI’s Komplete 8, Maschine, and Cubase 7.

Sounded cool enough. All the sounds were nice, with maybe the possible exception of the bass. I think this genre usually has a bass with a real strong low end (like 80hz and below). And this one certainly does. but to my ear it sounds just a little bit rumbly.

The song gets a little repetitive. But since it's a WIP, I don't know what else you have planned for it.

very cool comments. thanks. Yes, the bass was done late in the process as were the horns. both I think could be reworked. Maybe too many notes.
the repeative nature is that there are really only 2 chords with 3 notes each repeated over and over, just processes 20+ different ways using Komplete. I actually didn't think it was possible to get that much out of one skank/riff but I kept going and going.

I like the overall feel of the track's musicality, and thought that maybe some thicker sounds would help fill the void between the thin sounding stuff that's going on through the track, the bass and other sounds, aside from the drums seem a little synthetic but I appreciate you have other things to do with it yet. I like it, and will check it out as you progress.

Thanks! I really appreciate the comments. first, the drums are totally synthetic. I need to work on them. I wanted to make sure that the overall beat worked, and that it worked well with the main riff. After listening to it over and over, anything begins to sound acceptable after awhile. Yes, I need to fill in / replace some of that riff with some other stuff. Sonically, I'm a big believer in what Roger Waters said about leaving holes in your music. I need to make a few more holes.. Fill few in with something unique and leave some others empty. Maybe thats what he meant in the lyrics "Watch what you use to fill the empty spaces".
