How did I do with this classic song?

His arrangement was awesome! He gets an A+ for it actually.

But I explained in post #2 why his singing was bad.

i dont think his singing is all that bad... it definitely doesnt warrant a "sorry man, thats just bad" ... its not perfect and there's room for improvement... but its not BAD by any means. its not like he's tone deaf or cant function vocally. its just not prime. but like i said... certainly doesnt warrant the "constructive" criticism and "guidance" that you gave him...

Actually, I gave him detailed feedback.

The only comment that could be taken as an insult was my first. "It's not good."

ok, im not going to argue about this. you think he sucks, i dont and think you shouldnt be giving him advice on how to sing it and then do a worse job of it.

thats it.

You totally missed his point.

noo i fully gathered his point, he wanted the OP to sing it the original way instead of extending halelujah's and i think the guy should sing it how he wants and vary it however he feels necessary....

When someone demonstrates their interpretation of it and comes to a singing board to ask how he did with it, you shouldnt record yourself and say "no do it like this." especially if its worse.

perhaps you're totally missing my point.

No I get your point, and it's directly related to you missing his point. Get my point?

not entirely no, i dont think its a question of getting his point, its thinking he's wrong and disagreeing. get my point?

Nope. Just wanted to find a way to tackle problems.

First off, why can't I? Of course I can!

Who cares if I'm worse? Do you think producers are better than the singers they teach? Usually not.

He's not wrong though. Just because he didn't execute doesn't mean that his point is invalid. I don't play professional football, but I can tell when it's done poorly. I can still comment on it. Again, you're focused on the wrong thing and completely missing the point.

ok, like i said, im done arguing this lol, its a difference of opinion... but the parts your talking about, prime example at .32... he switches registers (which is REALLY what you were trying to say here isnt it?) i think add nice dimension.

now im done :)
