I wan't a super cheap recording studio

This is my arsenal of gadgets, I am going to buy a Behringer UCA222 audi interface, a Behringer XENYX502 5-Channel Mixer, and a Shure PG-58 condenser microphone. As well as the Sony DJ Style Headphones MDR-V55.

I'm on a budget, and i'm wondering will this setup yield me minimal latency and proficient audio input from the mic into whatever i'm recording into. Which in this case is the UCA222 usb interface, XENYX502, and the MDR-V55 headphones.
My software for recording is audacity.

Any thing I may need to buy, change or remove? Also how can I hook all this stuff together to get it working???

I'd say you've pretty much got the 'super cheap' requirement nailed. You might save some coin with a Nady or Behringer mic instead of the Shure. You'll still need a male-to-female XLR cable to run the mic into the XENYX and a couple of male-to-male RCA cables to run the XENYX into the UCA222. And a computer. Here's one that may meet your requirements. You'll need to download a copy of Linux as it doesn't come with an OS.

Luc'k.

Where can I buy the male-to-femal XLR cable to run the mic into the XENYX and a couple of male-to-male RCA cables to run the XENYX into the UCA222?

And would would purchasing a Behringer302 audio mixer alleviate the need for a UCA222?

bhphotovideo.com, musciansfriend.com, zzounds.com, your local guitar store, etc.

Yes, the 302 appears to combine the functionality of Behringer UCA222 and XENYX502.

Do you even need an external mixer?

All I want is something with a xlr mic jack, headphone jack, low latency, good audio quality, and comes with a microphone amp.To be honest I don't even know how to use most of the mixer controls, i'm using it strictly for vocals.

Go and read every thread in the Newbies forum, particularly the stickies. It will clear a lot of things up for you, including what latency is and how to manage it.

So all I need is this? Cakewalk USB Audio Interface
It seems to be a good product.

No what you might need though are some cable adapters. So as to match your inputs to outputs.

Your right about that, i'm going to post some of my music when I get good enough, my twin brother is too but his music is going to be on the more emotional side. By the way, we are trying to do is rap, but we are not remotely trying to sound like what you hear on the radio.

No need to wait. Well you do need 10 post to post your music. Sound cloud is a good medium - But having your music up here can bring in people who will help you to make better recording. Don't be shy about it.

I would post some music but I do not have an audio interface or an adequate microphone, but when I get good, I will post some for you guys to hear. BTW i'm currently in school right now.

My brother decided to record, it's a freestyle so all of the lyrics were not rehearsed or written down, they came off the top of his head. It was recorded with the dell internal mic so there's a lot of background noise and the software was audacity. This is his 2nd time he has ever recorded so he sucks at rapping.
