Free Waves OneKnob Louder

Vocal Rider demo saved my life. But then I later figured out how to achieve the same effect using a free plug and parameter modulation... Waves definitely has some cool stuff but piracy makes all software developers do stupid things.

After reading the hassles others had with this, I gave up and deleted the email with the serial number I got. Everytime I clicked on the 'get started' link, it would bring me to the site to download the V9 installer or whatever its called. I already did that. I couldn't find any download for just this one plug-in, so had d/l-ed the whole one knob package. Like Gerg says, 'FUCK THIS'!

That's the rub, their plugins are really nice. I almost went for the CLA classic comps, vocal, and bass rider this black friday due to the deals.

A complete opposite to the waves "give us your all to get free download" a while back I bought the T-racks 3 Standard Mastering suite through IK multimedia at a super special price, about $34 I think? The download and install was a breeze. I have been using it all the time since, a great little package. Incidentally a few months before I bought the T-racks 670 compressor for $20 in a no brainer deal through audiomidi, another no problem install. I only wish I had bought the T-racks 3 Deluxe Mastering suite while that was on special.

Still have not installed one knob (should be knob head) I think I will leave it alone unless an amazing review turns up here.

When I recently bought their L2 Ultramaximizer and H-EQ plugs....the option was to download/install to the computer they were going on....or download the entire Waves installer if I was going to install on a remote/non-networked box.

My DAWs are not networked, so of course I had to download their complete inataller...which is a GB or so, and it took some time.
I don't get why they don't provide individual downloads of each plug...but I guess their idea is that you will basically have all the plugs, so if you decide to get more, all you need are the licenses since you already have the complete installer package.

Yeah...I also got the the free One Knob Louder plug, I figured since I was already buying some stuff I might as well get the freebie two....but I have yet to install any of the plugs, and may not for awhile, as I have no immediate need for them.
My main interest was for the L2 which was a decent buy for $79. I used it on the last CD I did (I had a 2-week demo) and I liked what you could do with it at the mastering phase. I didn't go nuclear with it, but I was surprised how much level you could push with it without totally trashing your mixes....but at one point I could hear the EQ balances changing as the level went up, though there was nice workable area where it yielded good level boosts and still left the mix pretty much in tact as it was.

Thier black 76 was on sale monday for pretty cheap. i didn't buy though.

It's because of the way wavs plugins work. You don't install individual plugins, you install wavshell which is like a proprietary wrapper for all of wavs plugins.

Why did they do it that way? I don't know, but it made me realize that I also hate that due to that you can't organise any of their plugs like you can any of the others I own.

I'm gonna play around with it a bit more this week but as i still can't figure out how to get it to work on a stereo track, and after a bit of messing around with it tonight, i'm not sure how much use it'll get. So far it hasn't been worth the hassle (and it has been a hassle!)

I installed mine finally and I get two plugins in my VST list to choose from, one stereo, one mono.

Went back through stuff and, for some reason, the Logic Audio Unit manager had validated the mono unit but not the stereo one  I had to enable it and then rescan and it now works fine. Finally i will actually play with it for what i had intended to try it for. I still just wish it'd been easier to install

It's that annoying thing where in the components folder, it doesn't show the specific plugin, just the "waveshell" thing

OneKnob louder is really great, I had no hassle with the installing (have to admit the license center thing is confusing). It does what it says, it's really great for boosting raw tracks a bit.. I haven't used it much because I have nothing to work on (yet). Quality plugin.

They sent me 2 versions, one mono and one stereo, both work well.
