The vocal is closer to David Sylvain than Bowie to my ears. Throw in some slippery fretless bass and you'd have a hard edged Japan.
The guitars sound better from the mid 3 minute mark.
It's really good fellows; I'm impressed.
Get some more hapening.

I looked up this artist and band because I was not familiar with either. The first song I came across was "Ghosts", and the version I heard on YouTube reminded me very much vocally of Nick Cave lol.

Thanks Ray..ive been mucking around with the guitars and thrown all but one track out of the chorus, ill still retrack it so its very much a WIP until then, but i realise with the synth pads a lot of frequencies are cancelled out and that was much of the problem

Bit late to this. Not really my genre, but still plenty to enjoy I got to say - the vocals are a perfect fit and some of the synths are really full and rich. I particularly like the first one that comes in before the beat. There's a really unpleasant high 'dog pitch' frequency that I think is attached to it though - sounds a bit like having tinnitus. It's less prevalent after the drums start, but I can hear it at various points in the song. If you're hearing is a little shot I can see why you might not.

I'm guessing that you've tweaked the amp sims to try and retain the feel without the fizz - eight layers of guitar, that's insane! I wouldn't have the patience for half of that :laughings:

Good work both of you - hope you both enjoyed the collaboration.

Hmmm, I think it's more a slight boxiness to the chugging guitar during the verse than fizz - it seems a little freer in the chorus, so I don't know whether you low passed it slightly during the verse to open the chorus? It's also possible that I'm talking out of my ass...

Re. the hiss, can nobody else hear it? Maybe it's like those very high frequency noises that only under 25s can hear that they play outside of shops to stop groups of youths congregating. I might be the only one young enough :p

lol, you might be

its a different guitar in the chorus...but I havent really mixed it or anything...Im going to retrack it once I get it out of my head...I think it was the wrong guitar too...but I didnt want to leave it up as it was as even this guitar is better

So no, youre not talking out your ass...except maybe about my under 25 warder off-er noise :D

Ha! Wouldn't that be something if your song inadvertantly contained a sound used expressly to repel young people?

Wouldn't make much difference on this site, but could prove a hinderance elsewhere!

I think most of our chunes in here repel young uns :D

You need to add doppler to that:

Eno - Enno - EnEono - Enno - Eno - Eno - Eno.

Cool tune brotha. It's sounds like some wicked dark goth 80s retro. Like 80s pop meets Christian Death meets type o negative. Got that old school sound for sure. Doesn't sound like anything that would be new for today's music. Good work :D

Hey Thanks Phil...yeah firmly in another era...I hope we can get a mix of old and new but Im dragging my heels on the next tune. Lifes taken a front seat for a week...back to music tomorrow hopefully :D
